this district, who has been living 'at
Seaforth since his sale last year,

he has secured employment.

Catherines were week -end guests of
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Cuninghame.
Mrs. Cecil Vanhorn of Toronto, spent
the week -end with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Frank Layton.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bishop of Bur-
lington, spent the week -end at the
home of the latter's parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Oliver Jervis.
Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Beattie, London,
accompanied by the Misses Beattie
of "The Vogue", spent Sunday last
visiting with friends in Goderich.
Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Layton, of Exe-
ter, who have just returned home
after spending the winter in Flor-
ida, visited one day this week with
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Layton.

Isabel spent the week -end in Toron-

the Royal York.

meeting of the Synod of the Diocese
of Huron in London last week and
was elected a lay member of the
Executive Committee. Rev. W. A.
Townshend is also a member of that
committee.

Bayfield young people, the evening
was well spent. Mrs. Wilmer Harrison
gave a splendid topic, Miss Elva El-
liott read the lesson. Mrs. • Robert
Mollwain, Mrs. Pete Harrison and Mr.
L. Howe gave a trio. Little Phyliss
Harris sang a solo, the remainder of
the evening was spent in games. A
dainty lunch was served.
Miss Mildred Powell, who has been
in Goderich hospital the last two
weeks, is slowly improving.
Ernie Powell has been under the
Doctor's care the last week.
Mrs. Jack Reihl and baby son re-
turned home from Goderich hospital
Wednesday.
Miss F. Roberts, who has been at
the home of Mr. G. G. Newton for
some time returned to Goderich 'much
improved in health.
Norvell Pocock, of Hamilton, spent
the weekend with his parents. His
father remains much the same.
Married on May 7th. Mr. Erland
Betties, son of Mrs.. Thos Kettles and
the late Mr. Thos. Settles of Porter
Hill, to Miss Edith Thomas, Lindsay,
Mr. and Mrs. John McMillen and
Mary have moved to their new home
on the highway, near Taylors corner,
J. 10. Johnston, 'Toronto., has been
with his sister, Mrs. Fred Elliott for
a few days; also Mr. J. Johnston, God-
erich, has been a recent guest with
Mrs. Elliott. I
