Euclid,: who was guarded in his statements, once said that the lesser cannot contain the greater, but is not the sentiment ex- pressed in a gift or greeting carol sent to Mother on Mother's Day, this year on Sunday, May 8th a far great- er .thing than the, gift or card itself. It's the fact that you remember her, and acknowledge a debt which can never be `cancelled or repaid. It`s a happy day•; for, mothers' who receive some tender.tribute-and it can be a sad day, too, to mothers who remain forgotten. She knows "her day," she may pretend that its all nonsense to have a day for her. .But neverthe- less her face will glow with secret joy to know she is remembered. Send her a cheery greeting, a card that tells her you thought' of her. We have a reasonable (in quality, quantity and price) selection of attractive cards expressing appropriate sentiments. • 1 YOU SHOULD BE INTERESTED in the OUTBOARD MOTOR we now have on display. A most interesting and instructive lecture with lantern slides was given in St. Andrews United Church on Fri- day evening of last week under the auspices of the Y.P.D. by Rev, J. B. Moore, B.A. of Grand $end. The speaker told of his trip to the Holy Land last year and showed a hun- dred and forty colored slides, most of which he and his friend had taken themselves, thus giving a very per- sonal touch to the travelogue. A few views were shown of places en route, Azores, Gibraltar,Italy, Athens and Egypt, but most of them were of the Holy Land, for, in his own words, "We travelled it from. Dan to Beersheba." In thought he took those ,present from place to place in the footsteps of The Master. During the intermission, Miss Gladys Gale sang, "The Strang- er of Gallop," , while Mr, Moore changedinto native Arab costume be- fore resuming his lecture. He also sh'o*ed' a number; of souvenirs. will be observed on SATURDAY, MAY, 14th Meet the taggers viih a smile and a; donation when they call Saturday morning.
