Cane Sent To Edinburg Musellni Listowel's veteran druggist, Mr. John Livingstone, on receiving a re- quest from a museum at Edinburg, has. forwarded a cane to 'be placed among a collection of the late David Livingstone, famed African mission- ary, who is anephew of his, The cane was a gift to, Mr. Livingstone's father, an elder brother of the mis- sionary.. The cane has an unique history. One day : in Africa while talking to Stanley who had been sent into the interior to search for the Livingstone party, David spied a weed whose heavy, thick stalk bad taken the form of a walking stick. Stripping off the leaves Livingstone voiced his in- tention of tying it to a board to dry and asked Stanley if lie ,would take it to Scotland to Inc brother. John. The cane finally landed in Listowel where it has been for many years. When requested to send something to the museum Mr. Livingstone in- formed the authorities in charge of the exhibit that the cane had been. broken and the missing part lost. He later received word to send it along as it was. -Listowel Banner. BRUCEFIELI' The congregation have extended a call to Rev. H. E.
