I.O.L. Holds Amoral Supper^
Murphy Lodge, No, 710, held its'
annual Fowl Supper in the Parish
Hall of St, Paul's church last Friday
severing. Rev. 'G. W. Moore, who is
also -the Grand Chaplain, acted as
chairman. Rev. Bro. Burton proposed
the toast to the Hing which was re-
' sponged to by singing the National
-Anthem, The guest speaker for the
' .evening was Rt. Wor. Bro. J. Carson,
of London, Grand Master of Ontario
West who was introduced by Wor.
Bro, N. W. Miller. Mr. Carson and
. Mr. Miller have been intimate friends
for the past twenty years At the
conclusion. of the address Wor. Bros.'
Chas. Nelson moved a vote of thanks
to the sepaker which was unanimously
responded to. The evening closed
with the National Anthem,

Clinton Masons Host To
Lodges
Masons of Clinton Lodge No. 84,
were hosts to brethern of • district
lodges on the occasion of the official
visit of the District Deputy Grand
Master, W. A. Sutherland -of Park-
hill on Friday evening,
Lodges represented were: Huron
Lodge, Hensall; Irving Lodge-, Lucan;
Doric Lodge, Parlc1ni11; Mornington
Lodge, Carlow; Britannia Seaford];
Petrolia, Petrolia; Harmon de Mans-
ey, Chagford, Ehngland. The latter
lodge was represented by a member.
-of the R.A.F., AC2. J. W. Hill,
Grand lodge representatives Pres-
' ent In additon to the ruling D.D.G.M.
were past D.D,G.M's J. A.. Corbett,
Lucan; G,H . Jefferson, J. W. Shaw
and H. E Rorke, Clinton, and Past
Grand Stewart Thomas Chapman,
Brucefield
The master, J, W. Crich, and of-
ficers conferred: a third degree with
accuracy and precision. A social
half hour followed when the local
lodge served, coffee and substantial
lunch. The after -supper program
consisted of a splendicl;(address on the
principales of Masonry. Other speak-
ers heard were G. ,H. Jefferson, F.
Finglancl of the local lodge and R. D,
Munro, Carlow.

Presentation To Mr. and
Mrs. Clarence Ball
On Thursday evening, Oct. 30th,
about 100 friends and neighbours ,of
Mr. and Mrs, Clarence Ball gathered
in Summerhill hall to honour them
on their recent marriage and to also
welcome Mrs. Ball to the community.
The first part of the evening Was
spent in progressive euchre; the win-
ners being, ladies- first, Mrs. George
Armstrong; gents first, Earl Blake;
ladies consolation, Miss Evelyn Plat-
zer; mens consolation, Eph. Snell,
At 11.30 Mr. and, Mrs. Ball were
called' to the front and an addresewas
read by Mr. N. Forbes and. Messrs,
Harry Watkins and Norman Wright
presented them with a set of black
and whitegranite ware. Clarence, on
behalf of Mrs. Ball, gave a very fit-
ting reply and "For They are Jolly
G000d Fellows," was sung. Lunch
was served and. the remainder of the
evening was spent in dancing. The
music was furnished by Mrs. Harry
Stewart and Mr, George A.rnistrong
with Mr. M. Crich as floor manager.

Wedded Fifty Years
A pleasant event took place on Oct,
28th, when Mr. and Mrs, Albert WJ
Wise celebrated their golden wedding
at their home, 115 Fermanagh ave.,
Toronto. A large gathering of rela-
tives showered the happy couple with
gift's and good wishes, and numer-
ous letters and telegrams of congratu-
lations were received from distant
points in Canada and the United Stat-
es. During the afternoon and evening,
a reception was held, the living -room
and dining -room being attractively de -
decorated, for the occasion with golden
chrysanthemums, marigolds and roses.
Mrs. Albert Cain and Mrs. D. C. Mc-
Lachlan presided at the tea table,
while Miss 'Beta Wise, Mrs. A. H.
Cowie, Mrs, A. E. Cain and Mrs. M.
H Cain assisted. Guests were present
from Clinton and Guelph as well as
from Toronto.
Mr. and Mrs. Wise are both natives
of Goderich Township, Mrs. Wise's
maiden name being Clara Switzer.
.After their marriage they farmed in
Goderich township near Clinton until
1900. They then moved to Goderich
where Mr. Wise conducted a farm im-
plement business for several years.
They returned to farming in 1902, this
time in Colborne township near Car-
low, and remained there until 1920.
Upon retiring, they lived for six years
in Goderich and theh moved to Tor-
onto, where they have resided since.
They have a family of two daughters,
Mrs. D. C. McLachlan and Miss Reta
Wise, both of Toronto.
