Was held en Wed., Oct. 1st,The

the business. 'The association is in-
vited to FJgmondrille on Tues., Oct.
, 14th. The groups turned in their
' money, amounting to $118.70. The
roil call for November is "Armistice".
The meeting closed by singing God

-Mrs, W. McBeath opened her home
on Tuesday evening for a miscellan
eons shower for Dorothy Swan, who
;eras married on Saturday, The even-
ing opened* with community singing.
A scrap book was then made for
Dorothy,. after which the alarm
clocks .started ringing for Dorothy
to hunt her gifts. She received some
very lovely gifts for which she thank-
ed everybody. Genevieve Smith and
Norma Collins entertained with a
couple of duets. Mrs. Cairns, Mrs,'
Douglas and, Mrs. Snider presented a
short play entitled "Two Kinds of
Love,'' the evening closed with sing-
ing, For She's a Jolly. Good Fellow,"
and a delicious lunch was served.
Mrs. A. H. Bohner spent Thursday
at her home here.
Mr. C. Cornish spent -the weekerul at
Alliston.
Mr. A. Paterson spent the weekend
in Hamilton.
Miss Anna Cornish spent the week-
end in Mitchell.
The Brucefielcl Anniversary will be
held on Sunday, Oct. 10th. Rev. Mr.
Eddy of London will be the preacher,

Mrs. Harriett R, Nye of Orlando,
Florida, who has been the guest of
her sisters, Mrs. 'Arthur Tyndall
and Mrs, Mary A. Porter, has re-
turned to her home.
Mr. and Mrs. Evan Prouse of Mann-
ingham, Mich., spent the weekend
with Mrs. Prouse's mother, Mrs. J.
Wiseman who celebrated her eigh-
ty-third birthday on Monday.
Miss Agnes Sterling, Miss Carrie Jer-
vis and Mrs. Leslie Jervis and Ivan
of the R.C.A.I?, at Montreal and
Walter, spent a few days this week
at Niagara and Hamilton,

turned to their home in Pontiac,

work committee announced having
completed four quilts this month, and
the welfare committee also arranged
for some splendid' work: All conven-
ors gave excellent reports after
which ararngements were made for
the annual Country Pair to be held on
Saturday, November 1st, Mrs. Frank
Fingland and Mrs. Wilfred Jervis
were named managing convenor's.
Other convenors of sub -committees
are: baking sale, Mrs, M.T . Corless;
novelty, Mrs. Gordon Miller and Mrs.
J. Oho -wenn plates, Mrs. Gould; kitch-
en, Mrs. E. Saville; candy, Mrs. Vain
Horne; decorating, Mrs. Cooper and
Mrs. Nediger. Each convenor to se-
lect her assistants. Afternoon tea
was served by Mrs. It Manning's
group.
