Mr. and Mrs. F. McLaughlin and

Mr. L. Reid of Toronto visited
with Mrs, L. Jamieson.
Miss Anna Cornish is at her home
here recuperating from a ear acci-
dent in which she hurt her knee quite
seriously. We hope she will soon be
better,
Mrs. Ross Scott entertained group
No. 1 at quilting on Monday.
Jimmie Paterson has returned
home from the Clinton hospital,
Mrs. A. T. Sett and Elizabeth and
Mrs, C. Ham spent Monday in Lon-
don.

Miss June Murdock spent the
weekend with Miss Norma Collins,
Mr. Harry Collins of Western Un-
iiiversity, London, spent the weekend
at his home here.

After War Conditions Pre-
viewed at W. I.
An address on "Peace and Interna-
tional Relations," given by George H.
Jefferson, principal of the Clinton
Public School was a highlight of the
'meeting of the Women's Institute
held in the Agricultural Board Room
(last Thursday afternoon, Mr. Jof
ferson's talk was an interesting pre-
view of world conditions in postwar
;years and was heard with much in-
terest by the Institute group.
The president, Mrs• E. Adams, was
Lin the chair and Mrs. P. Hearn at the
piano. It was decided to" invite the
Auburn Institute for the October
meeting; also, to sell tickets. for a
quilt now completed, the proceeds to
'go to some branch of war ,service.
'The Institute will also undertake
some badly needed work at the ladies'
rest room. Sincere thanks was ex

pot, given by the Institute on the oe-
'eafsion. of "Mr. and' Mrs. Flynn's ;gold-

bed by Miss Margaret Remit with
Mrs, B. Kearns at the piano. Tap
dancing by Elaine McAdams, daugh-
ter of one of the Air Force men, was
cleverly done and much. appreciated.
Elaine was introduced by Mrs. Epps.
Before the closing exercises it was
arranged that quilting will be hold
and a ten -cent tea served at the ag-
ricultural rooms two weeks later, the
quilt to be for the Red Gross.
Mrs. Harvey Jenkins and commit-
tee were hostesses in serving tea.

tional Relations," given by George H.
Jefferson, principal of the Clinton
Public School was a highlight of the
'meeting of the Women's Institute
held in the Agricultural Board Room
(last Thursday afternoon, Mr. Jof
ferson's talk was an interesting pre-
view of world conditions in postwar
;years and was heard with much in-
terest by the Institute group.
The president, Mrs• E. Adams, was

piano. It was decided to" invite the
Auburn Institute for the October
meeting; also, to sell tickets. for a
