Mr. Ephraim Ball, Mrs. James
Raithby, Mr.' tiud Mrs. Harry Sturdy
and Betty; Mks. George Sturdy and
Mrs. Harry Govier visited last Tues-
day with. Mrs. Charles Lovett of
"Clinton. The visit took the form of
a celebration in honour of Mrs. Lov-
ett's 85th birthday. She was former-
ly Mary Jane Ball, and was the old-
est of the -Ball family. Dainty re-
dreshnients were served on the ver-
anda of the celebrants hone.
The annual decoration service of
Ball's cemetery was held Sunday af-
ternoon with a large attendance, Rev.
H. M. Weekes conducted the service,
and gave the address, his message
being taken from, 1 Corinthians 13-12.
Miss Betty Asquith presided at the
organ.
Funeral service was held Monday
afternoon from the )tome of Mrs.
George Sturdy for Mrs. James Ball,
Mrs, Ball whit was formerly Annie
Moyens, died Friday at the home of
her daughter, ;Mrs. Carr, of Dresden.
She had been 'in ill health for seven
years. Her hltsband died four years
ago. She was a member of the Ply -
month Brethern. Pallbearers for the
funeral were, Nelson Hill, Harry
Sturdy, Glenn Raithby, Norman
:Shepherd, Nelson Lear and Eddie

The bride looked charming in a
floor length dress of white Swiss net;
with basque waist and bolero of ap-
pliqued net. She wore white satin
shoes,, lattice • style, and elbow length
mittens' of appliqued. net. Her floor
length veil of .silk embroidered net fell
gracefully from a coronet of orange
blossoms, and she carried pink Briar-
cliff Roses, Baby Breath and Fern.
Tho bride's' only sister,. Verna Joyce
was bridesmaid. Wearing a dress of
ice blue 'taffeta, with sweetheart
neckline, molded bodice and bouffant
skirt with matching shoulder length
veil •of net caught up on a halo of
pink rose buds. She carried. My Love
Carnations in pink with blue corn-
flowers, Baby Breath and Fern, The
groom's only, brother, Knox Wni.
:Williams, Cliffton, acted as grooms.
Man:
Dinner was served at the home of
the bride's parents. The table was
covered with a lace cloth, hand made
by her Grandmother, and centred with
•a four story wedding rake. The
room •was tastefully decorated, in
yellow and white. Dinner was served
by Misses Clarissa Dale, Alice Hud-
son, Margaret Freeman, lvlrs. George
Mann Jr. assisting. The groorit's gift
to his bride was a gold monogram
locket, to the bridesmaid a gold lock-
et and to the groomsman a gold bar
set.
The bride choose for travelling, rose
dress and hat, beige coat with mink
trimmings and beige accessories. Af-
t'er a honeymoon spent at Niagara
Fails the young couple will reside in:
Tillsonbur•g, where 'the groom is an
employee of "The Tllsonburg Times."

ved to about 60 guests at Wong's
Cafe. Mr. Dduglae Herr K.C. of
Chatham gave a toast which was ably
respond by the greens.
The Brideg000ms gift to the bride
was a purse, to the bridesmaid a sil-
ver cream and sugar to the best man,
a gold key case and to the two little
flower girls,' gold rings to the soloist
a gold locket, and to the organist a
silver compact.
After the reception held at the

Mrs, H. Morrell of Clinton.
HUBBS—LIVBRMORE
The marriage of Miss Helen Liver-
more, daughter of Mrs. Henry Liver-
more of East Arow highway, Upland,
and Clyde Hibbs of Ontario, tools
place Sunday, June 22nd, in Las Veg-
as, Nevada. The Rev. Albert C. Mil-
ton pastor - of the Congregational
of that city, performed, the ceremony.
The bride was attired in a reding-
ote ensemble of navy blue sheer, with
white accessories, with which she
wore -a corsage of white gardenias.
The young couple were attended by
Miss Ruby Masker of Upland and
John Devine of Burbank who accomp-
anied thein to Las Vegas.
The bride, who is'A native of Up-
land, received her early education in
the Upland schools and, is a graduate
of Chaffey high school. She is an
employee of the Upland Lemon
Growers association, Mr. Hubbs,
whose parent's live in Okemalr, Okla-
homa, is etnployeii at the Lockheed
Aircraft plant in Burbank, The coup-

Rev. T. T. Faichney officiated. Dur-
ing the signing of the register Mrs
Frank Morley sang , "Oh Perfect
Love", accompanied at the piano, by
Miss 'Ann Budge, who was atthe

Given in marriage by her father the
bride was lovely in a dusty rose crepe
reclingnote ensemble and she wore a
shoulderveil caught to her head with
orange blossoms.She carried a'nose-
seta of 'pink rose -buds and white or-
ange -blossoms. As the only attend-
ant Miss Hester Haelcborn of Dundas,
was gowned in a beige crepe en-
semble with corsage of red nose and
blue Cornflower and smilax. Donald
Weber of Kitchener was the best man.
Following the ceremony a reception
for thirty was held, Mrs. Duncan,
mother of the bride, reached her

Ideal weather for haying cut the
attendance at the Clydesdale Field
Day to slightly over 200 on Saturday,
June 23tlt. The Fair grounds proved
an ideal setting for the event.
The highlighte-of the dory were the
music by the famous Lueknow Kiltie
Band and the splendid turnout of
Clydesdales from the stables of: Rob-
ert Wright, Wm. J. Dale, Vern Dale,
Jahn .H. ivicreven and Son, Hugh Me-
Milian, Jas. Hay, Thee Colson and
Jas. Leiper.
