RED SHIELD
Their were 24 present at the reg-
ular R.S.W.A: meeting last Tuesday.
Plans( were completed for a "pot-
luck" supper to be held next week at
Mrs, Rose ,Carter's residence. The
charge will be 15e,
The Red Shield would like to thank
the Clinton Salvage Committee for
their fine contribution of $100. No
anxiety need be felt as to how this
money will be used and they will .boar
in mind the donors of it.

Convocation at McMaster Univer-

Adams on Sunday.

graduation exercises of the College

were the guests of Mrs. Peek.

friend, Mr. Glenn Matoon, all of
Hamilton, visited with the former's
mother, Mrs, Helen Dalrymple ov-
en- the holiday weekend.

Grand Rapids, Mich,, were 24th,
May weekend guests of Mr. and
Mrs. Gordon Guninghamo at their
summer home in Bayli:Id; Miss
Cathleen Cuninghame has also re-
turned home.
Miss Valeria :Elliott spent the holi-
day at the home of her parents,
she was accompanied by Miss Char-
lotte Day of Sicux Lookout. Upon
their return to the Macdonald, In-
:stitute they were informed that
closing time had been set ahead
three weeks and the graduation
takes place (today) Thursday; May
29th.

When writing to friends or rela-
tives in the United States, Ontario
citizens should make these points

No Passports or Birth Certificates
Are Required
American citizens need only show
some simple form of identification—
car license, driver's permit, social se-
curity card or voter's certificate—in
order to enter and leave Canada.
There Is No Restriction on Gasoline
You know this, but many of your
friends in the United States have
been told that it is rationed. (Point
out that our gallon is one-fifth again
as large as their own.)
Pets May be Brought Along
On bringing' pets into Ontario, all
that is needed is a certificate from
an accredited veterinary shoving the
animal to be in good health.
Cameras Are Welcomed
The Ontario Travel and Publicity
Bureau is offering $600 in prizes for
the best pictures taken by Americans
in Ontario this summer.
Fishing Will Be In Full Swing
There is fine fishing to be had
throughout Ontario. A new, special
short term license costs only $2 and
the Ontario Government is offering
Prizes. totalling- $$600 for the biggest
fish caught this year by non-resid-
ents,
..' American Money Goes Further
The official rate of exchange of
ten percent is paid throughout all of
Ontario. Woolens. china, etc., are as
plentiful as ever. Purchase up to
$100 per person may be taken back
to the United States without duty.
