McCool of Clinton, is vis iting her daughter, Mrs. W. T. Rob ison and Mrs. Robison, Mrs, Beverly French of Detrol spent the weekend with her parents Mr, and Mrs. George Beadle, Miss Ethel Pridham, of Rockwood spent Sunday with Mr: and Mrs. Fred Yungblut. The recent call by the R.C.A.F for 2,600 university} students to train as radio technicians for special dut ies in combating the German night raids over England has 'been answer- ed by Harold Asquith son of Mr, an Mrs, Chas. Asquith who left Sunday evening via C.N.R. from Stratford for Montreal where the special course is being given by McGill Un- iversity, Miss Isabel Rollinson spent the weekend with Mr. and, Mrs, Wm. Medd. of Goderieh, Mr. Kellar who has been -station agent at Zoira has been transferred to Auburn. Mr. and Mrs. Keller and daughter, moved here en Friday. Mr. Riordan, local agent has been trans- ferred to Owen Sound, Mrs. Joe Wilson, Mrs, John Booth and two children have moved back to Northern Ontario, Mr. Booth has gone overseas with the fighting for- ees, • Mrs. Harry Govier quietly celebrat- ed her 81st birthday recently. The sympathy of this community goes out to Mrs. Roy Doer in the death- of her father, John William Brodhagen of Brodhagen. Death came last Monday in Seaforth hos- pital, the result of a stroke suffered on Sunday. The deceased man was 63 years old, He is survived by 4 sons and 4 daughters. Funeral ser- vices .took place Wednesday from Brodhagen Lutheran church with in- terment in the; adjoining cemetery. • Baptist Ladies Aid The Baptist Ladies' Aid met Thursy day afternoon at the home of Mrs. C. A. Howson, Mrs. Howson presided, Mrs, Annie Walper'1•ead the scripture and ' Mrs. 1 V', G Robertson offered prayer. Mrs. Earl Raithby.gave the aecretary's report. Readings were given ]iy Mrs. F. Ross, Mrs. Wm. Me- Tlwain and Mrs. Annie Walper, M'rs. Gordon Taylor sang a solo. Mrs. A. D, Silver gave the topic on "Medit- ution and .Quietness of, the Radio". Mrs: Thos, Johnston read' a letter from her .'cousin, 'Hel'en Waterer of Leeds, England, Mrs. R. J. Phillips closed -the meeting with prayer, after which lunch was served. Rev. Jas. I Dickson returned 'Mis- sionary from R'ams'tu, Formosa, spoke in Knorr Presbyterian church,' on Thursday ,evening.
