NAZI VICTIMS
Are FORCED to GIVE
CANADIAN CITIZENS
are ASKED to LEND
We must show the enemy that we can do more by
voluntary effort than be can. by compulsion.
German people are FORCED to provide the money and
material for mechanized warfare by means that put the
slave -driving builders of the Egyptian Pyramids to
shame. That is the Nazi way. Hitler sneers ail
Democracy, at the voluntary co-operation of free mien,
as inefficient, out -dated, doomed, He, has sworn to
destroy it—everywhere.
Can Democracy, can Canada, meet that challenge—by
democratic methods?
It means—MONEY. Money' to build the plants, buy
the material, pay the workers—to produce TO THE
LIMIT OF OUR CAPACITY those munitions of
mechanized warfare which we CAN produce—money to
purchase elsewhere what we cannot make ourselves.
EVERY MAN, WOMAN AND CHILD in • Canada is
able to share in the great task through SAVING and
INVESTMENT in War Saving Certificates.
You do Not GIVEl—You LEND. Your money comes
back to' You WITH INTEREST.

"THE TASK WILL BE
GREATER IN 1941"
Canada's rapidly expanding production for war purposes
will require increasing sums of money That is why the
Prime Minister of Canada warned Canadians in his New
Year's broadcast that the year ahead demands more
effort and more sacrifice.
Every man, woman and child is asked to lend. Every
dollar you lend will help to put another man in a job
making more munitions. Every dollar you lend
may save a soldier's life . . help to shorten the war.
Small wage earners must carry their share of the bur-
den, too.

We like to boast about our town.
It's a good town. It has the kind
of citizens that make a good town.
When we undertake to do a job
here in Clinton we do a good job.
Right now we have a big job to do.
We've got to buy our share of War
Savings Certificates.
It should be a big share.
Everybody in Clinton must buy War
Savings Certificates and buy them
regularly. We've got to win this war.
Let's show other towns . . . and
all Canada ... and the Empire .
that Clinton is in this fight 100%.

TO SAVE FOR PEACE?
FEBRUARY has been set aside as War Savings
Pledge Month, when every member of every
household in Canada will be asked to pledge a
definite, substantial stun every week to aid Can-,
ada's great war effort,
Every Canadian family must pledge, This calls
for sacrifice, perhaps, but no hardship. What you
lend, now, can really be regarded as deferred pay.
Give a generous response when your neighbor—a.
volunteer worker—calls. -
