Fish and Game Club
Outlook Good
The Fish and Game Club met last
Tuesday evening and decided to put
on another dance on New Year's Eve.
The frolic of several weeks ago was
so successful in the matter of at-
. tenda
t-.tenda nce and proceeds that the club
resolved to put on a repeat perform-
ancie. Interest in. the club activities
continues strong as was evidenced by
the attendance at the 'meeting.. A
surplus of about $200 in the treasury
after all liabilities are cleared up,
'and a considerable amount of equip-
ment on hand for next spring hatch-
ing, besides numbers of live birds al-
ready in one or more wood lets, is
considered a really good situation for
this recent organization.

Kiddies Flock to Greet
Santa Claus
It wasn't Christmas weather on
Saturday, but the mild day without a
snowflake to be seen, made it ideal
for greeting Santa Claus here that
afternoon, and children by the hund-
reds from town and district were on
hand to extend a greeting and get
their share of the free treats.
Coming into town from Seaforth
way on No. 8 Highway, he was met
by the Pipe Band and a crowd of eag-
er children and was escorted through
the streets taking in the whole busi-
ness section. Coloured streamers were
attached to the front of the truck to
give the appearance of reins and as
Santa came through the main streets
everyone was able to get a good look
at this fine old gentleman.
He stopped at the community tree
where with the aid of the Liens Club
committee and the Scouts treats of
candy and nuts were handed out.
When this part of the programme
was over, the boys and girls hurried
away to the theatre where two show-
ings of a 'good children's film were
made for their entertainment. Mean, -
While the fathers and mothers visited

corners with friends they had not

A Christmas Wish
There is a eall to army that all men
of good -will can answer without sac-
rifice, without compromise end with-
out bitterness. It is the call to the
Hearth, where soon the portly old
gentleman with rosy cheeks, silken
white beard and eyes twinkling like
two blue stars will manage somehow
to ease himself down the chimney,
there to survey, just as in happier
days, the row of stockings awaiting
his bounty. .
When the bugle call of Saint Nich-
olas' faithful herald sounds over the
land, let no man be se small, or so
afraid or so self-interested that he
will not put aside his woes, his cares
and even his cherished dreams so
that a , child may %e spared the
world's reality just for a day. Wher-
ever a free man lifts his gaffe on. the
winter scene let him make a new
pled a towards a better and safer
world for children and let him snake
its beginning the small joys of a
child on Christmas morning.
