tured home after spending a three
weeks' holiday at their Wiarton
residence.
Master Robert and Miss Edith Currie
have returned home after spending
the past five weeks in Toronto
visitng friends and relatives.

STANLEY
On Tuesday while driving a young
team on a roller,' Mr. Ed. Merner
was thrown off and dragged sonic
distance. While critically injured, Mr,
Merner was showing some improve-
ment. He is hi Clinton Hospital,
Mr. and Mrs. W. Shaddock and
Ann spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.
H. Scruton in Port Dover, who have
been visiting her aunt and unele for
the past two weeks, returned home
with them.
Mr. and Mrs. Thos. R. Ginn and son
Lloyd, of Detroit, Mich., were
guests of the former's sister, Mrs.
David Steep on Thursday last.
Mr. J. C. Shearer, Agricultural Rep-
resentative,
ep-resentative, is now on holidays and
his assistant Miss Marjorie Hend-
erson is in charge of the office.
Mr. and Mrs. Davies and son from
Illinois were in Clinton last week-
end and stayed with Mrs. Isabel
Carter.
Miss Jean Cameron, nurse -in -train-
ing at the Goderich Hospital, is
spending her vacation at the home
of her parents, Mr. and Mrs, Hugh
Cameron.
REI) SHIELD
The weekly meeting of the Red
Shield was held at the home of Mrs.
W. Managhan on Wednesday after-
noon. The knitted articles, brought
in were four pair socks, two scarves
and a sweater. A dainty lunch was
served and the proceeds from it
amounted to $2.40. The next meet-
ing will be held at Mrs. Fred Liv-
ermore's, September 4th. There were
fourteen present and the meeting was
closed with singing the National
Anthem.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Walsh and
daughter Elaine of Belgrave with
Mrs. Isabel Carter and Melbourne,
spent last Sunday in Lobo and
London visiting the Military Camp.
Mrs. James Livermore of Clinton
and Mrs. Clarence Green of Tees -
Water were visitors in London this
week being present at the trous-
seau tea for Miss Helen Agnew,
daughter of Rev. J. A. and Mrs.
Agnew at Empress Avenue parson-
age, London.
Recent visitors with Misses Ward and
Stone at the School of Commerce
were: Miss Mercy Ward, Miss
Katherine Ward, Mrs. Rowan
Banks of Rockville, Maryland, and
Mr. W. R. Sulks of Gaithersburg,
Maryland, Mr. Geo, Stone, Green-
field, Mass., and Mr. and Mrs.
Lynde Stone of Franklin, New
