Mass Production in
Dandelion Crop
All the talk of mass production
fol Canada's war effort 'seems to
have affected the dandelion crop
hereabouts. An extra effort was put
forth locally to keep up with the
times. R. H. Johnston's lawn pro-
duced some beauties, not just single
blooms, but bunched together in
bouquet style.
One of these was brought to the
office for our inspection. From one
extra large stem no less than eleven
blooms were produced. This was not
something uncommon for the lawn
either, for others had five, six and
seven each. We opened up the large
stalk to see if we could determine
what had caused the freak growth
All blooms went down to the root
front one massive stem just as a
single bloom does, so it appears Mr.
Johnston has developed a new type
of dandelion. Roots will be given free
on request, but who wants them?
CARD OF THANKS
Mrs. R. J. Draper and family wish
to extend their thanks and apprecia-
tion to their friends and neighbors
for the many kindnesses shown
during their recent bad bereavement.
