A Warning to Housewives
A lady called the other day ask-
ing us to issue a warning regarding
persons who claim they represent
the Institute for the Blind. She had
purchased in good faith, only to find
out later she had been tricked into
buying.
The procedure is for the prospec-
tive customer to receive a phone
message from a person soliciting
orders for brushes and wax in the
name of the organization. Later the
goods are delivered and collection
made without any credentials being
presented.
In order to avoid being taken in
by these smooth talking individuals,
always ask to see their credentials.
If their appeal is legitimate there
will be no difficulty. You can avoid
having inferior goods and assist a
good cause by making this a rule
before buying from door-to-door
salesmen,
