Churchill presided at the meeting. The meeting was opened with the Lord's Prayer. The minutes + Orbs: of the previous meeting' were read and adopted, business was discussed, and plans were made for a social evening later in March. The remain- der of the afternoon was spent in sewing. The meeting was closed with the National Anthem. Lunch was served by the hostess. Miss Marion Thompson of Granton made a brief visit in town Monday. Mr. Frank Clancy of Guelph is visit- ing Bill Counter and other friends in town for a few days. Mrs. J. Pepper, Stanley township. Miss Violet Morrison returned to Tor- onto this week after visiting for a time with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Morrison. Mr. and Mrs. 11. C. Castle of Mount Forest are visiting at the parental home, that of Mr. and Mrs. Herb- ert Castle, Victoria street. Mr. E. S. Livermore K.C., Mrs. Liv - mime and Wilfred of Ayhner were visitors on Sunday with Mr, and Mrs. James Livermore. Mrs. W. J. Woods of Walton, who is spending the winter with her friend, Mrs. James Livermore, is recovering nicely after her recent severe illness. Private L. V. Oliver and Private Douglas Oliver of the Perth Regi - anent, sons of the late Mr. Charles Oliver, Stratford, spent the week- end with their grandmother, Mrs. Fanny Oliver. Mr, and Mrs. Melvin Crich and fam- ily, accompanied by Mrs. Robert Douglas and Mrs.. Roger Pepper spent Sunday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alton John- ston near Brucefield. Private Sidney Lawson of the Essex Scottish Regiment spent the week- end at his hone here. We are sorry to report that Mr. .Arthur Ilebden is on the side list, and hope for his speedy recovery. Sony to hear of the illness and operation of Mr. Gordon.
