WEDDINGS
4 COLLIER.—MACMATH
The marriage of Miss Helen Louise
MacMath and LAC Donald Wesley
Collier, RCAF. scheduled to take place
in Winnipeg, was, due to the eastern
posting of the groom, performed
December 24th at.11 a.m. at the home
of the bride's parents, M. and Mrs.
S. R. McMath, in Goderich. At the
double ring ceremony which followe1.
the ritual of the Church of Scotland,
Rev. Richard Stewart, of KnoxPres-
byterian
Pre s
byterian Church officiated.
To wedding music played by her
sister, Miss Maude MaeMath, the
lovely bride entered the -room with
her father. The attractive decorations
included an evergreen arch over the
fireplace, red tapers, and the Christ-
mas tree. The bride wore a long
graceful gown 'of white silk jersey
with lace. styled on princess lines,
and carried red roses, Her finger -Up
veil of bridal illusion was caught with
a sweetheart Coronet of orange
blossoms and she wore a string of
••i ft of the groom.
The bride's sister, Miss Esther
MacMath, was bridesmaid, similar-
ly gowned in brier -rose silk jersey
with flower headdress and carrying
Talisman wises.
The groom was attended by LAC.
Russell Wrigley, RCAF., of Rivers
Man.
During the migning of the register,
Christmas carols were softly played.
Following the nuptials, Miss Grace
MaeMath, Reg.N„ and Miss Maude
MacMath sister of the bride, served
a buffet luncheon. The table was cen-
tred with red carnations in a silver
bowl, which was a gift given in mem-
ory 'of their son, Sheldon, by the
bride's parents.
Later the couple left for a short
honeymoon trip. The bride traveled
4n a black wool dress, with coat and
muff of Persian -trimmed black seal,
and black hat with touches of red. On
their return, Mrs. Collier will reside
in Goderieh until her husband's .short
course at Melton is Completed, when
they will take up residence in the
West.
The bride the eldest daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. S. R. MacMath, is
a graduate of Westervelt School, Lon
don, and has been employed in that
city since her graduation. The .groom
the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley
Coiliei, Edmonton is a graduate of
the University of Alberta. The bride
is well known in Clinton.
SHORE—HEARD
The marriage of Miss Margaret
Isabella Heard, second daughter of
Mr .and Mrs. J. L. Heard, Clinton,
and Corporal Albert James Shore, RC
AF Newfoundland, son of Mr. and
'Mrs. Albert Shore of Goderich, took
dace in Ontario Street Unitech
Churoh, on Monday afternoon, Dec-
ember 27th, Rev. G. G, Burton of-
ficiated.
The bride, who was given in mar-
riage by her father, wore a street
length stress of duslty pink wool,
chartreuse hat and brown accessor-
ies. Her corsage was of white chrys-
anthemums, and she wore a string
of pearls, a gift from the groom.
Miss Mildred Heard, was her sis-
ter's bridesmaid, wearing a street
length dress of gold coloured wool
and corsage of gold chrysanthemums
Mr. Harold Shore of Goderich acted
as best man for his brother.
Later Cpl. and ,VIrs. Shore left on
1a short trip, the bride donning a cam-
el -beige coat 'with wolf collar -for
travelling.

Celebrating 90th Birthday
On Saturday, January 1st, Mrs.
James Snell of 170 Hunter Street,
Hamilton, will celebrate her 90th
birthday. She lives with her daughter,
Miss Mary Snell and every simmer
makes her regular trip to the old
homestead at Clinton, occupied by
her son Ephriam Snell. She is known
around these parts and is quite spry
forall her 90 years. She knits contin.

in all her ways.

Huron Committee
• Makes Final Grants,
Final grants, wiping out a patriot -
lc fund of 627,500 voted by Huron
county council early in the present
year, were made last Wednesday, by
the wardens' committee of the coun-
cil. Among the suns alloted was $1,-
300 to No. 12 EFTS. ,Sky Harbour for
equipment .of the new recreation hall
soon to be opened at the airport. Oth-
er grants, TOM., $200, Salvation
Army Red Shield 61,368. The total'
grants for the year for patriotic pur-
poses represented one-half mill on the
county tax rate.

M.S. was held at the home of Mrs.
B, J. Gibbings with Mrs. Aiken, the
president presiding and Mrs. E. Wen-
derf at the piano.
Meeting opened with "Joy to the
World the Lord is Ring." followed by
repeating the Lord's prayer in uni-
son.
Ars. Kennedy took as her topic for
the Worship Service "The Light of
the Knowledge of God." following
closely the order of Service in the
November Missionary Monthly, and
Christmas Carols were sung.
Mrs. Burton presided for the elec-
tion of officers. The report of the no-
minating committee was as follows:
