Baptist Ladies Aid
The,Christmas meeting of the Bap-
tist Ladies Aid was held in the church
on Thursday afternoon. The devotion-
al period was taken by Mrs. Frank
Raithby and Mrs. Stanley Johnston.
The business period was in charge of
the president, Mrs. C. A. Howson.
the material for a quilt complete was
donated to the •Aid and was quilted
during the afternoon. The quilt will
be donated to the Red Cross Society
The program was in charge of Mrs.
Earl McKnight, several Christmas
carols were sung and prayer was of-
fered by Mrs. Earl Raithby. A read-
ing was given by Mrs. Jas. Woods.
Mrs. Wesley Bradnock rendered a solo
and Mrs. R. J. Phillips gave a piano
instrumental. The topic on Bethlehem
was ably, given by Miss Amelia McEl-
wain. The meeting was closed with
prayer by Mrs Howson. A hot pot
luck lunch was served.
Colored moving pictures were shown
in the Baptist church. The pictures

The W.M.S., of Knox Presbyterian
Church held their Christmas meeting
at the home of Mrs. Fred Ross with
the president Miss Josephine Weir in
charge. Following the singing of a
' Christmas Carol the scripture was
"read responsively and Mrs. Lawson
,offered prayer. A Christmas greet-
ing.was read from Miss M. Small of
Toronto. It was decided to remember
the shut-ins at Christmas. An instru-
smental was given by Miss Norma
Daer. Rev. Dr. A. D. Thompson
brought the Christmas message which
was enjoyed. A solo was rendered by
.:Mrs. Wes. Bradnock. Miss Weir va-
cated the chair and Mrs. Lawson took
years.
Gardner—Scott
A gaiet but pretty wedding was sol-
emnized at Knox Presbyterian Manse
were finished, making .a total of 36
quilts. The following sewing was
completed this year 85 panty.dresses,
50 girl's blouses, 1 dress, 6. personal
bags, 6 pr. boys shorts 5 boy's shirts,
20 hospital sheets and the following
articles were knit 6 girl's sweaters,
8 turtle neck sweaters, 7 pr s
ocks'
and 6 pr, socks for prisoners of war.
Peer times during the year boxes
were sent to the ,soldier boys of the
community who are now overseas.
Several thank, you letters were re-
ceived. Mr's. E. Potter is the
treasurer of the Overseas Box fund'
and submitted an :interesting finan-
cial report as did the Unit'treasurer.

The regular monthly meeting of.
the Lafalot Club was held at the
home of Mr's. 3. Johnston with fifteen
ladies in attendance.
The meeting opened with the sing-
ing of a hymn followed by the Lord's
Prayer in unison. Then the monthly

cert at S.S. No. 1 Hullett will be held
on. Monday evening, December 20th, at
8.30 p.m. Everybody welcome.

HOLMESVILLE
The W. ,M. S. met on Tuesday after-
noon December 14 at the home of Mrs.
Norman Trewartha with Mrs Bond in
charge. The meeting was opened by
singing a Christmas hymn followed
by the Lord's Prayer in unison. The
scripture lesson from 2nd Chapter of
Luke was read by Mrs. E. Potter.
A composition by one of Miss Alma
Trewartha's pupils entitled "'She Oth-
er Shepherd" was read by Mrs. Mul-
holland.
The financial report was given fol-
lowed by a solo by Mrs• E. Trewartha

At the regular meeting, sixteen quilt',

We are glad to report Mrs. Dell
Gardiner able to be home again from
Clinton hospital after an operation.
Mrs. F. Weston, who has been quite
ill at the home of her daughter, Mrs.
A Betties is improving.
Mrs. Thos, Elliott, who has suf-
fered a mild case of blood poisoning
is also much improved. Her daughter
Mrs. Schoenhals and little son are
with her from Lotsgbranch.
The W. A. meeting was held Thurs-
day last at the home of Mrs. John
Torrance quite a few ladies were pre-
sent and a quilt was pitrtly quilted.
The afternoons are so short it is
hard to accomplish much. Election
of officers resulted as follows:: Pres
iclent, Mrs. J. Lockhart; Vice Mrs.
Vic Elliott; See,, Mrs. Wilmer Har-
rison; Treasurer Mrs, R, Torrance;
organist Mrs. A. Lockhart, flower
committee, Mrs. R. Torrance read a
report of the year's work which was
very encouraging $5 was voted the
M.M. Fund and $72 handed in to go
for improvements on the parsonage.
On Friday evening neighbors sand
friends of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Cox, re-
cently married gathered at their home
on the Gth concession and presented
then with an occasional chair and
card table. Donnie Harris read the

Lonitka'rt macre" the presentation. Jim
and Mrs. Cox bah replied' very' fit-

at any time. The evening was spent

Mrs. Samuel `Jordan and fancily

pathy during their recent sad bereav-
ment also to those who so kindly
loaned their cars and for the many
lovely floral tributes; and especially
to Miss Grainger and her nursing
staff at the Clinton hospital, who
were so kind and patient during Mr.
Jordan's illness.

estate of Anne Jane O'Brien, late of
the town of Clinton, deceased, who
died on or about the thirteenth day of
October 1943, are hereby notified to

ember 1943 full particulars of their
claims.
Immediately after the said last
mentioned date the assets of the said
estate will be distributed amongst the
parties entitled thereto, having re-
gard only of claims of which the un-
dersigned shall then have notice, to
the exclusion of all others, and the
ndersigned will' not be liable to any
persons of whose claim the under-
signed, shall not then have notice for
the assets so distributed or any part
