Mrs. James Mutch met with a pain-
J'ul accident on Saturday afternoon,
Mrs. Mitch was visiting friends' in
Clinton and was getting , in a car
to come hone when she stepped into
a rut, and fell. Shewas taken to
Clinton Hospital where an X-ray re,
"waled a dislocated Trip and a sprained
-ankle. Mrs. Mutch is still confined to
-the hospital. ,
' Walkerbtu•n Club
The Walkerburn Ladies' Club met
at the home- of Mrs. Percy Vincent
'with an attendance of 14, Two Red
Cross quilts were completed. During
'the business period the treasurer re-
ported that $3had, been given to buy ,
gifts for the' girls, in uniform in Great
Britain. Three dollars was also given
to the Red Gross campaign. A. men i -
'ter donated seed butter beans to the
.club. These were sold and the tree
L;,surer realized, 80c' from the sale,• Mrs.
Amos Ball donated a quilt and Mrs.
James, Webster a quilt top. During
the afternoon the members had a dis-
cussion regarding tee silver jubilee
of this club which will bo celebrated
in June of this year, Mrs. Harold
Sprung invited the club to her home,
for the May meeting. Lunch was
served.
Following the church service in
Knox Presbyterian Church Sunday
morning a meeting was held to re-
organize the Sunday School, the fol-
lowing officers were elected: Super-
intendent Alfred Rollinson, Assistant
Supt. Donald Harris, Secretary trea-
surer, Miss Norma Deer, Bible Class
teacher J. J. Wilson, Sr, Teacher, Mrs,
Don Harris, Junior teacher, liljis.
Wes Bradnock, Primary teacher Miss.
Josephine Weir, Cradle Roll. ‘Secy.
Mrs. F, Ross, Organist, Mils. Jos-
ephine Weir. Some 40 friends' and
neighbors met at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Win. McVittie when a social
evening •was held in honor of Mrs.
Wm. J. Dobie, a former resident, who
is .at present visiting among her old
neighbors. During 'the evening a purse
of money was presented to Mrs. Dobie
by. Roberta McVittie. On behalf of
Mrs. 'Dobie, Nelson Patterson replied
with words of thanks for the gift. A
hearty vote:of thanks was also given
to Mr. and Mrs, McVittie for their
hospitality.Fallowing the singing of
"For She's a Jolly Good Fellow."
Lunch was served.
Several farm changes have taken
place recently. Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Turner and fanyily have moved to the
farm of Mrs. Oliver McBrien of Mul-
lett which they have rented, Mr. and
Mrs. Wellington Good of West Wa-
wanosh have purchased the farm of
Mr. Jasi'er ,MCBrien of Hullett and
moved this week. Mr. and Mrs, Ted
Mills of Toronto have returned to
their farm .)-cantly vacated by Mr.
and Mrs. Good.

The Evening Auxiliary of the Red
Cross will hold, a five -cent tea Monday
evening, April 12. at their regular
meeting in the Agricultural Board
rooms. Each member to bring their
own sandwiches. All tickets must be
turned in and the raffle for the quilt
