Farmers Asked for 10% of
Cream Cheques for War
Certificates
The farmers of the County of Hur-
on are being asked by the National
War Finance Committee to loan the
Government, for the duration of the
war, 10 per cent of their pay che-
ques for milk, cream, eggs and other
farm products.
Crops in this country are splendid
and prices are reasonably good. The
appeal for the 10 per cent is there-
fore receiving a generous response.
Payment is madeby giving the pro-
dueers War Savings Staines instead
of cash for the 10 per cent. The
stamps are placed in folders until
$4,00 worth is collected, when they
can be changed for certificates. Every
$4. certificate will be redeemed by the
Government in 71/2, years by the pay-
ment of $5.00 which means a 3 per
cent investment. If purchasers should
need the amounts they have invested
the certificates will be redeemed) at
