Fremlin announce the marriage of their eldest daughter, Nora, to William M. Adams, only soli of Mrs. Adams and thr late Dr. Wm. M. Adams. The ':eremony was *formed by the Rev. Jude's Anglican church, Toronto.,, Bill Counter, 1210:N.V:111,; ,son of Mr. an'cl Mrs. Morley Counter, Clin- ton, is a member of the crew of the corvette "Goderich". Bi11 joined the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Re- serve on May 1st, 1941, a few days after his 18t birthday. During his, student days, at Clinton ' Public School and the Clinton Colle- giate Institute, BM took an active in terst in many of the track and field sports and, other student activities. Symbolic of his athietic prowess are the cups, medals and shields in his home. 13111 was a member o£ the Collegiate Hockey team which won the W.O.S.S.A. title in 1940. A keen rifle shot he won the cups twice in 1940-41 and also won several medals in the Lord Strathcona contests; two gold and two silver medals. On the rifle range at Ellwood Epps' Sport Shop, Bill won the Maple Leaf Badge. It is interesting to note the names on the 'sup for rifle shooting at the Col- legiate. ' Nine out of fourteen of the winners are already enlisted in some branch of His Majesty's Service. In the spring of 1941, Bill repre- sented Clinton Collegiate, when rep- resentatives from all Ontario Colle- giatep and High School visited Camp Borden for a day travelling in. com- pany with delegates from nearby col- legiates, whom he knew well from their meeting in competition at the itnnuai Track and Fields events. In connection with that famous juvenile team of 1941, we would like to point •out the number of these younsters who are in uniform or waiting for their call, Rolfe Monteith, Bill (Blondie) Cook, Doug. McKenzie and Bill Counter, It is understood that Bill (Izzy) Powell and Harry McEwan are waiting their callto service.
