The Women's Association held
their March meeting 'at the home of
Mrs Charles Williams on Thursday
with the president presiding. The
meeting V,'as opened with, a hymn fol-
lowed by the Lord'% prayer. The,
scripture reading was . taken by Mrs.
Ira Merrillafter which Rev. I%.. Wil-
ding led in prayer. After the busi-
ness discussions, readings' were given
by Joy Lobb, Josephine Muir and Rev.
Wilding.. The meeting was closed
with a hymn followed' by the benedic-
ti
on. A quilt; was 'quilted and lunch
was 'served by Mrs. Williams and Mrs.
Irvine Tebbutt.

John. M. Eckert of McKillop town-
ship is in charge of maintenance at
the Huron County scene of the Inter-
national Plowing Match on October
13, 14, 15, and 16 of this year. John
is the man for the job. They say that
it takes a big man to accomplish big
things . . . John M. Eckert is a big
man in other than physical ways . .
and' physically lee is a powerful man
at 250 pounds of bone and muscle.
At the meeting where the various
chairmen were being picked, the title
of C'hairinan of Maintenance," came
,up and everybody fidgeted a little. It
is not an easy task this business of
looking after the location where
thousands, of people 'dome to holiday.
A booming voice was heard in the
hallway and somebody looked up and
said, "Jack Eckert." That was all
there was to the matter.
