parents, Mr. and Mrs, Frank Whit-
more,
Onrnday the death took place
of Mrs. obert Emmerson, one of
Goclerieh township's most esteemed
citizens. The deceasedlady was in
her eighty-sixth '.year and had spent
her entire. -life in this -township. She
was a daughter of one of the,pigneers,
the late William Thonipsoii, her maid-
en name being' Ann Jane Thompson..
She was born on a farm across 'the
road from the one on which she spent
the greater part of her. life and on
which she, died. Her.,,. husband,
whom she married in 1669, died.
many ,years ago. She is survived by
six sons and one daughter: Mrs,
Arthur Currie of the sixteenth, •rSt, J.
Emnsersoin,,,of Vanscgy, Sask., and
Walter, Samuel, John,..,; George and

her late home, on the .Huron Road, of
Charlotte Marshall, wife of, W. T -I.
Johnston. The remains were laid' in
Clinton cemetery` on Wednesday af-
ternoon', Nov. 4th, the services at the
house and graveside were conducted'
by the Rev, C. L12.• "Bilkey.' The pall-
bearers were Messrs, Clarence Sturdy,
S. R. MclVlath, Bert Trewartha, Mike
