Mrs. George Chesney -of Toronto was the guest last week of Mrs.'Robt- Pearson: Harold Whitmore of Hamilton spent the holic iy at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs, Frank Whit- more, Onrnday the death took place of Mrs. obert Emmerson, one of Goclerieh township's most esteemed citizens. The deceasedlady was in her eighty-sixth '.year and had spent her entire. -life in this -township. She was a daughter of one of the,pigneers, the late William Thonipsoii, her maid- en name being' Ann Jane Thompson.. She was born on a farm across 'the road from the one on which she spent the greater part of her. life and on which she, died. Her.,,. husband, whom she married in 1669, died. many ,years ago. She is survived by six sons and one daughter: Mrs, Arthur Currie of the sixteenth, •rSt, J. Emnsersoin,,,of Vanscgy, Sask., and Walter, Samuel, John,..,; George and Fred, all of this townslnp.•Ttvo broth- ers, John. and •George Hudie, and two sisters,.Mrs. Wni.
