SHOWERED THE BRIDE.
A very pleasant evening was spent
on Monday last at the home of Mr.
and Mrs, 'H. Castle, Stanley township,
when the girls from the Stevenson-
Harris Knitting Co. gathered in hon-
or of one the former employees, MTs.
James Vincent, formerly Miss Mabey
Castle. An address was read by Miss.
Alma Campbell and, Miss Sybil Proc-
tor presented Mr. and Mrs. Vincent
with a handsome casserole, and other
useful gifts. After a .. dainty lunch
was' served the girls left, expressing
their good wishes the bride and
groom.
C. C. I. FIELD DAY.
The first part of the annual field
day'sports in connection with the
Clinton Collegiate was run off on Fri-
day last, the winners of the chani-
pionships being as follows:
Senior Boys—Harold Snell.
Internjediate boys -Lorne Cook.
Junior boys—Douglas Matheson.
Senior Girls—Ruth Jackson.
Junior girls—Madeline Streets.
Tomorrow the remanider df . the
,games, interfornt and intercollegiate,
will be played, when the students of
the Seaforth Collegiate will he here.
A basketball game between Seaforth
and Clinton girls- will be Bayed off
on the Collegiate grounds at three
o'clock and a soft :ball game at four.
A silver -collection will be taken "to
defray expenses. The boys': games
will take place in the park. Those in-•
terestod in the boys and girls should
show it by being present.
In theevening the annual at-home
will be given in the town hall.
Next week -we hope to publish the
complete list of winners, in the differ-
ent events.
