AN ACCIDENT.
Last Monday -when Mr. 14I. Rainras
went 10 pul Inc hat 11- on his horse, -
the animal threw hien over and then
stepped' on him. -'The space• was so
small. that Mr. Ramras could' not
move ::andthe`h_or'se stepped on his
head, inflicting very severe injuries
there and ,on his legs around 'the
knee. It was miraculous that Mr.,
Raamras escaped death because he
was absolutely helpless and . the
horse„ although usually very quiet,
had become very excited and quite
unmanageable.

Between two and 'three o'clock on
Sunday morning the fire bell rang.
The fire was in the - old post office

business and Mr. W. Barry who has
a shoe store.Mr. Barry's part was
damaged to t'he greater *extent, the
contents of -the store -being• absolutely

worked havoc with his materials. The
fronts of both stores were pretty
badly wrecked.
