repayable in 20 annual installments
of 8.03 for 'every $100 so loaned or
expended. Vjhen there are sufficient

Messrs,: McEwen, Craigie and Salk-
eld interviewed the Council re grav-
elling the road to Blue Water Beach,
This was left over for, future consid-
eration.

Goderieh township lost a very high-
ly esteemed citizen in the person of
Henry Sweet, who passed away Tues-
day of last week. The late Mr. Sweet
had been ailing for some time past.
The funeral was 'one of• the largest
seen around here for some time. The

was in charge .of the funeral. The
service at the house was Conducted
by the Rev. A. V. Walden of HoInies-
ville, while'the Orange Society` took
a prominent kart at ,the graveside,;
The late Mr. Sweet was in his d6th
year. He is survived by his wife,
who was formerly Miss huller, The
funeral was held to Clinton cemetery,
The pallbearers were: N. Tr'ewartha,
W. Vanderburg, R,. Currie, E. Tre-
wartha, A. Yeo, and 17. Potter. The
sympathy of the • entire community
goes; out to Mrs. Sweet in her sad be-
reavement,
Mrs. Sweet wishes to extend thanks

this life on Saturday, May 9th. The
..late Mrs. Snowden was born in Dev-
onshire, England, on Decenber•26th,
'1835 and was a daughter of the late
M'athew and Mary Westlake. When.
:seventeen years of age, in the year
'1842, she' came with her parents to
Canada; who settled on lot eleven
Sauble line and' four years later she
was married to the late Barnard
'Snowden who predeceased her a
;ntiniber of years,
Mrs. Snowden was 'a Very active,
honzeloving• woman. Friend or
• stranger were ever welcome in. her
hospitable home and she -will be very
much missed in the community where
she resided' • so many years; Mrs,
Snowden - had net enjoyed very good
health for the ;past five'years and has
been althost an invalid for the past
two years, but it Was not until a'few
days before her death that her' condt
ion became critical, • She is survived
by three daughters" and ,one son;
Misses Elizabeth and Rosamond at
home,' Mrs. Joan Sovrerby, Goderieh
townshiip, and Thomas of the Sauble'.
