ing for Toronto, Brampton and
other points, to visit friends

summer course in Toronto and later
spent a week or so at Niagara
and Rockwood.

the former's brother, Mr. S. Law-

Mr. Lack Kennedy, manager of the

to, a former resident of Clinton and
later of Winghain, is in town today,
having come up to attend the fun-
eral ..of his (brother's widow, the
late Mrs, D. A. Kennedy.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Plulusteel, Mr,
Perry Plmnsteel and Miss Thome
Plumsteel left yesterday on, a mo-
tor trip. They will go as far east
as Brockville, visiting Athens and
Whitby, the birthplaces of Mr. ancl•
Mrs. Plumsteel. They expect' to
be absent about a month.

peg without change. New convert-

The special harvesters' trains of the
Canadian National Railways from all
Ontario points as advertised., will
make the fastest time to Winnipeg
operating via the new Longlac cut-off,
the . shortest route between Pastern
and Western Canada. • Harvesters
traveling by this route, will, as a
consequence, he first in the field. The
first train leaves Toronto one minute
after midnight of August 21st, (12:01
a,.m. August 22nd) . The fare is a
flat rate of $15 to Winnipeg and a
half a cent a mile 'beyond. , Return-
ing the fare is half a cent a, mile into
Winnipeg and $20 back to starting
point. '
