attend the funeral of her sister -in-

in town yesterday, coming up to
take part in the funeral' service 'of

Mrs. (Dr.) Rolierts and babe returned
on Saturday:from London, where
[they spent the past few weeks, and
rue again the guests of Mrs. T. J.

Mr. Earl' Livermore of Stratford
spent the week -end at his honxe in
town, coming up to see his mother,
who has beon'undergoing treatment
in the hospital.
Messrs. Weldon Hovey of the Molsons
Rank staff and i5enneth,'Robcrton
of the Royal' 13ank staff are holi-
daying and are visiting in Hamil-
ton this week.
Messrs W. G. Doherty of Chicago,
and A D. Doherty of Lisburn, Al-
berta, arrived home Tuesday even-
ing, in time for the funeral of
their father, which tools place yes
terday.
Dr. Ninvno returned yesterday even-
ing after spending a week in Tor-
onto. Dr. Nimmo has been nurs-
ing an injured hand for the past
few week and took the opportuni-
ty of a little holiday in con§e-
quence•
Mr. and Mrs. J. Robertson of Leah'
'bridge, Alberta, arrived last week:
to visit the latter's parents, Mr, and
Mrs:- J. Wiseman. Mr. Robertson
left again after a few days but
Mrs. Robertson is remaining for a
longer visit.
Mr. Robert Holmes of Toronto spent
the week -end as the guest of .his
sister, Mrs..' II. B. Chant. Mr.
Holmes came up on ,hearing of the
death of his old friend, the late W.
Doherty, but owing to the funeral

On Thursday evening of last week
about one hundred of 'ilia friends and
neighbors of Mo. and Mrs. Hugh Gil-
mour gathered at their home and
gave them a complcte surprise. Dur-
ing the evening they were: presented
with two oalc leather -seated: rockers.
The evening' was spent in dancing and
social chat, and the ladies provided
lunch. A very pleasant time was
spent,.
