Just now -there is some interest
shown in the question as' to whether
women may be appointed to the sen-

British North Amerita`Act used the
w&rd "person" without` designating

President Coolidge' to the contrary,
But, metaphorically speaking, I think'
there are still ways in'which,,for the

would be well, for women -to allow the

But there are other tasks' which
are waiting a 'woman's touch. Sev-

a prominent -editor, in proposing a
toast to•the women waiters, Said that
when women first entered 'the news
paper field they were "given -the jobs
which men dial not like doing" -and
nobody supposed that they would 'ever
make much of a place for'thiemselves
in that field.: ' He said this attitude
was a mistake; that women had mach)
a most prominent place for them-:
selves in the newspaper field. This
is even truer nowthan it was fifteen
or . twenty years ago, Newspaper
women have opened up a field which
newspaper men never dreamed was
worth cultivating -the field of .wq;,
men readers. If . the names of wo-

be consternation in the circulation

A Savings Policy
The,' Deferred Annuity" plan is: the most
reliable Bond in existence. The most con-

this form of saving because of its unquestioned
safety. Nothing is so absolutely sure as a
