A Toronto marc and his wife and

gasoline, the roan and his wife using

use of gasoline, which is of an ex-

A disastrbus lite- occurred on the
'second of StanleTy en Saturday after-
noon- when the barn of Mr,' George
Henderson, with the seasbn's' crop
and a silo which '
had been freshly,
filled, were destroyed by fire," The
origin of ;the fire is unknown, .the
supposition being that it *as caused
by spantaneous combustion, there be-
ing'no fire at' or 'near the building.
Mr. Henderson was in Clinton when
the fire started and was immediately
summoned . but when he : arrived it
was impossible to do anything. But
neighbors had gathered and a num-
ber of pigs which were housed in the
stables beneath were liberated, al-
though a few were burned, The Loss
is a serious one as• all the season's
crop was destroyed and the barn was
practically new, as it had been raised
and a foundation with 'stabling put
under as well as an addition added
only a few. years ago. Mr. Hender-
son is having a sole .of his stock on
