Goderich township friends. They

Mr. R. J. MeMath of Detroit and his
daughter, Mrs. O. G. Wade, and her
two daughters of Windsor have
been visiting With Mrs. J. C. Mc-
Math of town. and with Seaforth
friends the past couple of weeks,
leaving on Tuesday for their homes.
Mr. MelVlath, who is a brother of
the late J. C. IVIeMath, was a for-
mer citizen of Clinton and later of
Wingham. He has been in. Detroit
for the past twenty-one years.
Mr. G. R. Paterson, Agricultural Re-
presentative for Huron, and Mr.
Orser, Assistant, leave the end of
the week for • Ientpville, ;where
they will attend a conference of Re-
presentatives, about sixty being ex-
pected, After the conference they
wily atend the World's Poultry
Congress, which opens in Ottawa
on July 27th, when it is expected
that over forty countries will be re-
presented and the city is preparing
for a record crowd,
Mr. V. C. French of The Times, We-
te.skawin, AIM.,was in town a few
days last week visiting his mother.
Mr. French cane east to attend the
meeting of;: the Canadian Weekly
Newspapers' Association at Bigwin
Inn in June and since that has been
spending the time in Clinton and at
Grand Bend, owhei. e his, wife is vis-
iting, with some relatives, Mr.
French left Monday for Toronto
and leaves the end of the week Jor
home. Mrs. French and daughter_
and two small sons will remain

On Wednesday afternoonnext the
earner stone of the new Grace United
church, Porter's Hill, will be laid, ,the
ceremony to take place at three
o'clock in the afternoon. Mr. W. G.
Medd, M.L.A. for South Huron, . will.
lay one corner stone and Miss Mooney
of Goderich the other. There will be
some music, speech making, etc., and
an offering will be taken, and in the
evening a supper and program will
be given, the supper to be served in
the hew church shed, The congreg-
ation of this new ehureh will be made
up of Bethel, formerly Methodist,
and Bethany, formerly Presbyterian,
which have united. Neither church
was in a central position so both have
boon taken down and a new edifice is
being built to suit the needs' of the
united-eongregation..
