A Column Prepared Especially for Women—, .But Not Forbidden to Men 'Give me the good old days, When life was unhurried and true; And 'just as a favor throw in Sonie modern improvements, too. --The Cheerful .Cherub A young girl complained a' short time ago that she was afraid she did not like the work she had chosen and fitted herself for, but rather hated to adinit it and to try something else. But' nowadays a girl need not stick to a job she doesn't enjoy any more than a boy need. A girl with youth, health, average intelligence • and a• sound high' school education as a foundation can fit herself for any Position she 'wishes, providing she is ready to buckle down to work and do The schools specialize too much' perhaps on teachers. The average high school course fits one to become a teacher and a year's course at the Normal fits one to step but and "take brought to be exehanged in response to the roll ,call. Thenext meeting will take place at the - !thine of :Mrs, a school." But everybody is not fitted to be a school teacher :any, more than every- body is fitted to, be an engineer or 'a rat-catcher. Many a young man and woman fit themselves 'to, 'teaeh 'drat is, take the teacher's course, which is a good general one, teach, a year or two and then take up the special work they wish to do. This used to be the special stunt of the young, man. There is hardly a public man who has worked hniaself up who has not taught for a year or two in his younger days. But there, is no reason why girls should not do it, too, if they wish. If'I were 11, teach- er, or bookkeeper on nurse and thought I'd rather do something else I'd teach or keep books ornurse just long enough to save some money and I'd fit myself for something else. The whole world' is before a girl today' as it was not in leer grandmother's, or even in her mother's time. RE11EKSAH - Says Dangerous Varicose Vems Can Be Reduced at Home.
