Cole. She leaves a family of eight children: John George of Kansas; Sig'vorth of Stratford; Met. Wm. Stephenson, Brussels; Was. of Listowel; "Jos, W. ef. Flint, Mich.; Sarah, '(Mrs. Adam Glazier) of Chu- , ton; Alfred of Ypsilanti, Mieh:; Mrs. T. Pollard,, Constance, to mourn the loss of a Ioving mother, Her grand- sons were her pallbearers: Fred Cole, Stratford; Fred and Wesley Stephen- son, Brussels, Geo. Cole, Flint, Mich.; Hubert: Glazier, Stratford and Alfred Glazier, Clinton. The flowers were lovely, She was buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery" Ethel, beside her husband, She was 93 .years of age. Quarterly meeting was held 'at this appoint;Hent ,; on " Sunday afternoon. The board meeting will be held at' Londcsboro on Wednesday evening. We are very sorry to learn that Miss Doris Lawson, daughter of Mr. Earl Lawson, is at present very sick. We hope she will soon recover. er. We are very sorry to say that an- other old resident of the township has passed away in the person of Mrs. C. Dale, Sr,, who died on Thursday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. J. .Miller of Clinton. She was buried on Saturday from the home of her .son, James, to Constance cemetery, 'where the remains were laid beside those of her husband. She was 85 years old. .She leaves a large family: Mrs. Mil- ler, Clinton; Mrs, Bowes, Blyth; Mrs. W. Connell, Clinton; IVrs.-W. Knox and Mrs. G. Knox, Harloek and Tames and George. This used to he the special stunt of the young man. There is hardly a public man who has worked himself up who hasnot taught for a year or two in his younger days. But there is no reason why girls should not do it, too, if they wish. Auburn (Crowded Out Last Week) • -• At the manse, Auburn, on Wednes- day, April 20th, at 11:30 a.m. Rev. W. R. Alp performed the marriage cere- mony uniting Miss Thelma Lawlor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sanford Lawlor of Auburn, to James' Calvin McIntyre of Dungannon. The happy couple left for Toronto on a honey- moon trip and on their return will make their honrie at Dungannon. • Mr. and .Mrs. F. Hollyman and. family of Hamilton are visiting Mr. and Mrs. N. Miss Waldron, convener of the legislative committee, gave a brief sketch of British and Canadian legislation.. A great var- iety of seeds, bulbs and slips were A sad and untimely death occurred here.. in the passing of Joseph Wil- liam Swan at the age of 46 years, from pneumonia, last Friday morn- ing, leaving to, mourn their loss be; sides his widow a family of five children, three girls and two boys, also the following sisters and broth- ers: Mrs. R. 1V4cKenzie, Stratford;. Mrs. Geo. Etherington, Exeter; Mrs; Fred Parker, Wilcox,."Sade,; Charles Swan, Nokomis, Sask.,• and George Swan, Ashfield. A sad aspect of. the bereavement was the loss of the baby of the family, Charles, age one year and eight months, just buried five weeks ago. Mr. Swan was one of Kinross town- ship's best known' and highly respect- ed farmer residents,, and his place in the community will be hard •to fill. Relatives were present at the funeral on Sunday, which was largely attend- ed by friends and neighbors- as well: Mr, and Mrs. Chas. Linton, Mr, and Mrs. Harvey.
