TO ENTER ESSAY CONTEST
On' page four of this issue will be
found the first announcement of an
Essay Contest- for school children
which is being conducted'by a group
of weekly papers, including The
News -Record. Not only are there
valuable cash prizes to be won, but
pupils winning prizes will bring hon-
or not only to themselves, but to
their parents, their teachers, their
schools. and , the community as a
whole. There is no reason why a
reader of The News -Record should
not win the first prize.' We believe
that ,a number, of,.the prizes can be
brought home to this community, and
we urge parents and teachers to do
all they can do to encourage boys and
girls to enter the contest. Read the
rules• carefully and if there is any-
thing about them that you donot
understand, the editor will be glad to
