Ban Deep Ditches
At the Thursday afternoon session
u resolution was received from Mid
•dlesex County Council asking endorse -
tion of a resolution to the Minister
of Highways -to. have .tile drain and
shallow ditches installed in new roads
recently taken- over from the coun-
ties,in place of the deep, open ditches
.as now prevail.
The ;Speeial and -County Property
Committees" reports were presented
and after discussion clause by clause,
-were-adopted in eomrnittee and in
council. The Good• Roads Commis-
sion and the Executive Committee
reports were adopted as presented.

en to the Town of Clinton in accord-
ance with recommendation of the
Road Commission at the December
session; 1926.:A by-law is being pie
pared designating the connecting
links in the towns as; eounty roads,
and this grant will -not •then 'be neces-
sary. -

for $100 additional pay re his work
at the House of Refuge we recom-
mend that this be paid as we email-

onsider pay, for his board should not have
been deducted from his wagon while
hired to work at the County Home,
Re account of Wm. Brydene, we
recommend that this account be re-
ferred back to Mr. Erydone for furth-
er explanation,
.Adopt Valuators' Report
The matter of :confirming the -report
as a basis of equalization was then
considered in council.
After discussion the following reso-
lution was. made: •
"Moved by Messrs. McEwan and
Hayes that we adopt the valuators'
report as presented and a byelaw be
passed confirming same and making
the figures contained therein the
basis of equalization for county pur-
poses for 1927."
Moved in amendment by Messrs.
Geiger and Merner that a committee
be appointed of two sural and two ur-
ban members to report at the Juno
meeting re valuators' report. A stand-
ing vote was taken, seventeen voting
for the motion . and twelve for the
amendment. The warden declared
the motion married accepting the val-
uators' report.
Moved by Messrs. MelSibbon acid
Cameron that a by-law re equalization
assessments for county purposes be
prepared and presented to the council.
