Johnston is the son of Wallace M.
Johnston, formerly of Bayfleld.
"Dr, Janie6 CarfieId Johntson,
Milestone, and Miss Mary Wilson.
Misenhinrer, daughter of, Mr. and
Mrs. H. X. Misenhimer, Nokomis,
were married by Rev. Bert Howard,
Delis/e, Thursday afternoon at the
United church; Nokomis.
The church was decorated with
ferns, blooming plants and sweet
peas. The bride entered with her
father to the strains of the "Loi}en-
grin'" wedding march, played by her
sister, Betty. She wore a gown of
bois .de rose gdorget and silk net
and ar picture hat to match and ear.-
ried a °bouquet of I{illarney roses
and lily -off -the -valley. Her. sister,
Dorothy, was maid of honor, and
wore powder blue georget over peach:

sheaf of pale' 'pink carnations. The
flower girls, Jean and Grace Squires,
nieces of `the groom, wore frocks, of
peach silk and carried' balkets of
sweet peas. Robert M. Wilson Re -

GODE IGH: Intimation of the
impending retirement of Daniel Mc-
Donald, for., many years clerk of the
high and surrogate courts, of Huron
County, was given' yesterday at the
Parliament libildings from the office
of the Attorney-Geheral, Hon. Mr.
Nickle, stated that. Mr.:MeDonald,had
arranged to relinquish his duties on
September 1 next, Mr. McDonald .is
one of the veteran officials of the
I,iovincels legal service. Advanced
age: is the reason for •his 'retirement
from duties 'with which he has be-
come almost inseparably associated in
the minds of Himeji County residents.
He has preserved his health and ac-
tivity to a remarkable extent, and
despite his years the Goderich legal
offices, where he has liad his head
quarters,,,have given a consistently
good acount of themselves under his
administration. The fees of�•t"le-of-.
free net around $5,000 per year. •-

of ,Seaforth's, best known citizens
when Mr. James Davidson..ollinchley
passed away at his home on James
street. Mr. llinchiey ' had ' bee* in
poor health for a year or more, and
since last September had been con-
fined to his residence. Previous to
thenhe had 'been' a strong; robust
man, a' familiar figure` in town and
country. alike, and one who took an
active interest in the community's
welfare,

in Lower NC/bighorn` are certainly,

has a gang of men employed reniod•
elling'the Lower town school. The/
estimated cost of the work will he
$2,500, and when completed the
school wiII be quite up-to-date. ^ A
basement is .being buil£ underneath
with a furnaee,room and children's
wash rooms. The outside walls will
be veneered with brick, and several
new -windows. will take care of the
light and ventilation, Mr. Wm. Wil-
son is the inspector,
MITCHELL: Mr. James Robert-
son who has been working with the
construction gang building the road
from Mitchell to Dublin,' met with an
accident Wednesday in which he suf-
fered a compound fracture of the left
arm. The accident happened at the
gravel pit, which is about two ,.miles
west of town. Mr. Robertson was
Plating a belt on a huge pulley on the
stone crusher and his arm caught be-
tween the' .pulley and the belt.
Girls Softball
;Clinton 'cRed Socks" will play
Brucefield Colts on Friday night at
6 p1n. sharp. Everyone come and
cheer the girls.
On Saturday the "Red Seeks" will
join in the tournament in Stratford
