Mrs. D, J, Atkinson ,vas in Exeter the beginning of the week attend- ing the funeral of the late Dr. Hyndman, an old family friend. Canon .C. R. Gunne of London, who conducted the services in St. Paul's church on Sunday, was the guest while in town of Mrs. R. J. Cluff. Dr. and Mrs. Gaudier returned Mon- day ftoan Toronto, where they spent a week with friends. The Doctor has resumed his practice. Dr. and Mrs. Garrett and daughter, Miss Lillian, of Winnipeg, Man , have been visiting, at the home of the lady's brother, Mrs. J. E. Cook. Mr George Middleton of Windsor spent the week -end with big par - ants, Reeve C. G. and Mrs. Middle- ton of Sunnyside Farm, the Huron road. Mr. Millyard of London visited with !Miss Ward and Miss Stone and their guests, Mr. Stone and Miss Margaret Stone of Essex, over the week -end. Mrs. R. L. Moore and. daughters, Lor eine and Bessie of Stratford were the guests of the lady's parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Finch, over the week -end. , Mrs. Livermore, sr.; and Mr. Texas' Livermore of Toronto were in town over the weekend, coming up to 'attend the funeral of the late R. Sal- keld, and the reports of the delegates to the Education Association at Tor- onto rant Easter were received and approved. -A resolution was passed suggesting the appointment of a rural representative nn each High School Board of Trustees. A resolution was also passed favoring the teaching of Xlome. Economics, the Science of,Ag- riculture and Technical training in the proposed new High School at Clinton. A strong resolution was also passed favoring the present system of Public and Iligh School management, in pre- ference to that proposed by the Township Board Bill now before the Ontario Legislature. The Secretary was instructed to -forward the, last named resolution to our M.L.A. as well as to the Secretary of the Ontari'g Rural Trustees and Ratepayers Assodiation at Toronto,; asking that the •matter be taken up at the Annual Convention at Easter. ¥a. H. L..Sal- keld was Salkeld.-was appointed delegate to the Convention. The several school trus- tee .boards and .ratepayers of the township were fairly well represented and much interest was -manifested in the Public School Act,the concensus 'of opinion being strongly in opigosi tion to the Township Board •Bill, .in- troduced by the Ontario Department of Edueation. As Mr. Middleton wished to withdraw from the'position of president, Mr. Chas. E. Whitely was appointed; the new President at this meeting, and Mr..
