. Monday's 'Stratford Beacon-Heraid
had the following -item regarding an
_aceident near that ,city• Saturday eve-
ning. Two of those concerned are
Clinton boys and "their friends here
are thankful the result was not more
serious.
"When the roade'ter ,in winch they
were driving overturned in the ditch
about three miles east of Shake-
speare on the Stretford -Kitchener
'provincial highway, Saturday night
three' Stratford young people xe-
eoived, minor' injuries. The ' three
.injured were: Miss Helen .GWord,

street, bad cuts •to the head and

25th: -
"The „marriage of Eileen Lois,
daughter of IVIes. E. B. Ibbotson, to
Mr. George Duncan MeTaggart, jr.,
son. of Mr. and Mrs. George D. Mc-
Taggart, of Clinton, Ont., took place
quietly, on Saturday afternoon at 4
o'clock in the chapel of the Church
of St James the Apostle, Rev.
Oanon A, P. • Shatford 'officiating.
The bride was • given away by her
brother, Mt Selwyn Ibbotson, and
attended by her sister. Miss Hazel
Ibbotson. Mr, Forbes Hale was best
man for Mr. iltcTaggart, and the
ushers were Mr. Fred McTaggart,
of Toronto, brother of 'the bride-
groom, Mr. Ivan Ibbotson, •brother of
the bride, and Mr. Andrew Ruther-
ford. The out-af-town guests includ-
ed• Mt and Mrs, George McTaggert,
of Clinton, Ont., parents of the
bridegroom: Mrs, John Crerar, of
Hamilton, sister of the bridegroom,
and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Allen, of
Toronto, the latter also a sister of
the bridegroom."
DEATH CF JAS. MCCONNELL
James McConnell, An old resident
of Clinton, passed away at his home,
Wellington street, on Friday last
at the advanced age of einoty-two
yeare and vine months. He had been
in failing health for same •time. -4
Dr.e. McConnell was born in Tor-
onto township, and educated at St.
Michael's College, Toronto, but
had been a resident for many yeare
in Hullett, where lie farmed mita
about fifteen years ago, when he
retired and moved into Clinton, He
was a man of quiet disposition and
was very lad oe reading, a habit
he kept up as long as health per-
mitted. For some months he • Mid
been in failing health. ,
was twice married, his second
wife surviving, also ,a family of
eix sons and three daughters:

City; John, Fro* and Dati, „Lac St.
Anne, Alberta; : Raymond, Aullett;
Vincent and Kometh, Fairview, Al -
Mia Anna -Buffalo and Me's.

twenty-one, Anderson and . Ayer-
shardt, were arrested hi Brantford
fcr some infraction of the L.C.A.
and were convicted and eentenced.
They had been taken near •tlie car,
although they did not seem to 'dahli
a, but tlie authorities concluded it
was their's and on looking up the:
serialnumber found it corresponded
with the amber of the stelen car
• here and they notified Chief Stonge
The license number had been re-
moved and another one attached be-
longing to one of .the young men,
and several blankets and other
things were found in it. It is sup-
posed that they had used it as liv-
ing quarters.

had trayelled about farm thousand
'mites since „having been .stolen, brit
'after a little overhauling by a _gar-
age man, brought the officers and
their prisoners home.
The Young men have had an in-
itial hearing and will ppear again
today but will probably get another
remand, as there are a number ef
charges apainst them. They were
wanted for stealing turkeys up. in
the northern part of the connty.

Winter 'Faits are now the attrac-

Huron county was represated at
the Royal Winter Fair, Toronto, by
