Aquiet, but pretty wedding took
place at the home of Mk. and Mrs: W.
J. Dowson, Goshen line, on Saturday
morning, June 8th; when their laugh-
ter, Vera Marie, was united in, mar-
riage to Mir. Leonard. E. Talbot, son
of Mr and Mrs. W. IL Talbot, also
of Stanley, Rev. J. Penrose of Varna
.officiating.
The wedding march was played by
Miss Ruby Erratt. The bride looked
very eharthing in a white crepe ro-
maine dress with her. veil arranged
coronet style and caught with orange
blossoms, and she carried a bouquet
of carnations,' lily of the valley and
maiden hair fern. - Miss Fern Tay-
lor;,consin of the bride, attired in tea
rose georgette and also 'carrying a
blaiquet of carnations, lily of the val-
ley and maiden hair fern, acted as
bridesmaid, while the 'groom was at-
tended by Mr. Anson Coleman.
Immediately after the ceremony a
dainty wedding brealaast was served
to the immediate relatives, the Mis-
ses Mable Calver and Margaret Mc-
Kinley assisting.
The groom's gift to the bride was
a cabinet df silver, to the bridesmaid,
silver salt and pepper stands, to the
pianist a silver bar -pin and to the
groomsman a silver belt -chain.
Tho happy couple left by motor
later `for Hamilton, Kitcheer and Ni-
agara Valls, the bride travelling in
a cocoa -brown and beige ensemble
suit, -with lint, shoes and purse to
Match. On their return they will re-
side on the groom's fine fang on
Blue Water Highway. The 'many
friends of ltIlt..and Mrs. Talbot wish
them a happy and'prosperous wedded

ard left last week for Kennedy, Sas-
katchewan, owing to the death of
her father, the late Mr. Daley, who
passed away there.

John Treble's. A quilt was quilted,
then the regular meeting, filIing in
the rest of the afternoon, Miss
Ruby Young took the study book.
Mr, and Mrs. 'Wm. Marsh are
spending a week at Sault Ste. Marie
U. S. A. leaving on Thursday last
by motor.
A large number of people attend-
ed the funeral on Sunday of Mrs
George Rutledge, north of Nile.

enjoyed a public dance in Mr. Mc-
Millan's new barn on'Friday night.
The community is sorry to hear of
the death of Mr. Wim. Stuart, who
was in his Seth year, He has been
in failing health for some time. ,But
he was able to eat his three meals
the day preceeding his death. The
funeral took place from the residence
of Mr. Wire. Long on Monday.
Mr. Alex Young is still confined
to his room! He feels little improve'•-
ment as yet but we hope he will so
feel like stepping out to enjoy t
fine June weather. "
