The deceased has been laid up with flu which turned to pleursy and pneumonia. Mr. Gdod. passed away Friday and was buried Monday. Mr. David Cantwell has' sold his farm to Mx. Wilfred Raymond. Mr. Cantwell and family intend residi$g in Goderich. The young men's class of Smith's Hill Sunday school entertained the young ladies of the same school at a social evening at the hall, Carlow, an Friday evening. Games kept the company in hilarity till the always important part, lunch. Everyone we are assurred had a good times Mrs, Gordon McPhee and children have returned home after a visit with her mother, Mrs. James McManus. Rev. Mr. Cummings gave his illus- trated lecture on "Pilgrim% Pro- gress" on Tuesday evening at the hall to a crowded audience. The pic- tures and lecture were both interest- ing. The pictures were again given at Dungannon on Wednesday even- ing. The south wind turning after to west then north was a furious one on Wednesday evening. Sleet first then snow along with wind, which felt to be the worst for years, raged all night till on in Thursday afternoon, then slowly abated. Havoc was caused to Mr. Tait Clark's. barn, taking the south half of the roof off. On the pasture farm Mr. Thos. Carrol's barn was badly wrecked and other minor wrecking was felt by others.
