room at Huron ,college; providing
furnishings from time to time as
required. The committee appointed
who are responsible for providing
flowers fol the church members who
are ill is Mrs. J. W. Tippet, Mrs.

Reports from the Penny Bank re-
-veal that at the end of December the
total sum of $1,095,474:06 was on
• deposit for the school children of the
'Province of Ontario. Mount Bridges
school had one hundred per cent. of
the pupils depositing during Noyem-
` ber and Decenmber. • Clinton had six-
ty-six, with a total .of $352.03 de-
posited locally. Premier Ferguson,
who :is also Minister of Education
for Ontario, urges upon the teachers.

The regular meeting of the Young
Peoples' Department of St. Andrew's
etleated.Church was held on Thursday,
.Feb. 7th, at eight o'clock in the
chool room of the church. The pres-
ident, lilt'. Don. MacKenzie, presided.
The topic dealt with -the subject of
"Good Reading and how it may be
Encouraged," a subject Of great lin-
Port in the present day. It was pre-
sented in a very forcible manner by
Mr. W. G. Rae.
During the brief social period that
followed the regular meeting, Miss
L. Woods favored the' department
with a much appreciated solo.
Five new 'members were added to
the roll and there were in all twen-
ty-nine persent. There. are now
`forty members listed on the roll and
it is the desire to -add to it any who
would like to join he the meetings and
activities of the organization.
The next meeting will be held on
Thursday, February 21st and Will be
conducted under' the leadership of
Mr. Colin Campbell. Colne out .and
enjoy an interesting and instructive
hour of:diseussion.
Mr. Harry Baker of London is
spending the week with his parents,
1V Tr. and Mrs. F. W. Baker having
been laid off work on account of a
severe burn on his wrist.
The progressive euchre and dance
held in the town hall on Monday ev-
^ening under the auspices of L,O.L•
No. 24 was quite a success, There
•yas' a large attendance. The first
part of the evening \vas spent in pro-
gressive euchre. ---The prizes were
awarded to: Lady, Miss Jeffrey;
Gent: Charles Falconer. Ladies con-
solation, Miss E. MacKay; • Gents
consolation, Walter Westlake. Re-
freshments ' were served after which a
jolly dance was held, member$ of the
L.O.L. 'supplying trio music.
