Forms of application for renewal of Chauffeur and Operators'
Licenses may be obtained from any Agent of ,the Depart-
ment or from any Iicensed Garage in the Province,
Chauffeur .and. Operators' Licenses may be procured
from the Motor Vehicles Branch, Toronto, or from any,
Authorised Issuer of motor vehicle •permits and licenses.
There is ab Issuer in each county. The fee for the renewal
of a Chauffeur or Operator's license is $1.00.
Each application for renewal of a license must; be accom-
panied by the applicant's present year license card. This
regulation MUST BE COMPLIED WITH ABSOLUTELY::
in order that RENEWALS, which are issued without "•
ekaminatior;, may -be issued only to those entitled thereto. '
All. applicants for NEW licensee must undergo an exam-
ination.
In the event of the loss of a 1928 license, a duplicate can be
seeured:only from the Motor Vehicles Branch, Department
of Highways, Toronto.' A fee -of 50c. is charged, which : •

Owing to the flu being so bad near
P,cnmiller, Benmiller invited Smith's
Bill to give the girls' drill and Can-

learn of the sudden passing away of
ilIr. Alexander Murdock of Hentall
on Christmas day in Clinton hospit-
al. Mr. Murdock had been in de -
alining health for a few months, yet
few knew of his vary serious' condi-
tion until they learned of his death,
He leaves one daughter, Miss Alexa,
to whom all extend sympathy. . Miss
Murdock is an invalid and it was 'a
great shock to her in her delicate con
diion. •
Mu. P.' N. Wiggins is spending a
few days holiddys in London with
his family,

primary and secondary schools throughout Canada have been closed.

A sound, healthy body resists the germs of influenza most success-
fully. Public Health authorities urge you to eat plenty of wholesome
food, use plenty of clean water inside and out. -Sleep at least seven
hours,' with the window 'wide open and the heat turned off. Keep
the bowels open. Keep the nostrils clear.. Gargle your throat morn -
in and night. Keep away from Souses in which there are cases of
uenza. Do not permit any one to cough or sneeze in your face.

How to Recognize Influenza
The germsresponsible for the common cold and influenza are found

of incubation -,that is, the time between catching the germ and the

coughing, sneezing, a slight rise in temperature, aching joints or

though your very life depended on it.
GO HOME ...if You Get It
Take aihot bath, take a dose ofrelaxing medicine and a hot drink,
preferably milk, GO TO BED -Land stay in bed :tor -three or four
days, until; you are practically normal. Make sure that all eating
and drinking utensils are carefully sterilized. if any one in your
house has a cold, insist that these precautions be taken in their own
interests as well:, as your own. The common cold is one of the most
serious diseases. It spreads rapidly. Influenza cases should be as •
