IVJuteh. Mrs. Gormley Thompson- of Toron- to is holidaying at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. Mogridge. Mr. J. Tyndall of Windsor• attended the funeral of his uncle the late John Hoare. Quite . a number of people in and around the village are' laid up with colds` and influenza this past week; but hope to see them out again be- fore long. In Clinton hospital on Tuesday morning' Mr, John . Hoare passed away in his seventy-fifth year. '.He' had 'gone there some three weeks previously for treatment, and despite medical care, his death followed an operation. Ile was a member of the United church and in former years a Mbthodist, where for many years lie acted as choir leader. A sister, Miss Mary, at home and a brother, C. 'Hoare, of Clinton survive him. a The funeral was held on Thursday last: front his lateresidenceto West- field cemetery. Rev..V7. R. Alp .coni- ducted the services. Her- rington, but had been a resident of Detroit for 40 years. Her husband who was one of the leading doctors in the eity died -9 years' ago. Miss Lauds.
