Holamesville
Tho regular monthly meeting of the
W. M. S. was held last week, fit Miss
Aeheson's. The meeting opened with
a hymn of Thanksgiving-, after which
pastor, Rev. Herbert led in pray-

was read by th'e president, Mrs, Lobb.
A report of the W.M.S. Conference
at Auburn was given by the delegate,
Mrs»."L. M. Jervis, Some of the sug-
gestions in the report were adopted
by the meeting. A _strangers secre-
• tary and a press secretary were ap-
pointed. It was decided to take a
one ,cent collection -each month for the
- flower fund. •
This year the W. 112.'S: had an in
• teresting contest beginning the
• month of January and ending with
tbe October meeting. Mrs. E. Yeo
: and Mrs. B. Trewartha were the Cap-
• tains of the respective sides. Beth
ladies worked with a will, Mrs. Yee's
• side being the winners by a` few
Points. The aini of, the contest was
achieved in better attended meetings,
prompt roll call response, prepared
heralds, early payment of fees, fin-
- ancial increase by bringing in this
fall of the once bare money trees
• each bearing a full harvest of:money
apples or ten dimes. ..To the losing

the Clinton town hall_ Both societies
were rewarded for their effort with
a neat sum, to swell the piano fund,

ville has already purchased an in

Clinton. It was duly installed in the

The Monday evening fowl supper
andconcert. drew the largest crowd
on.record. The ladies, however, had
furnisherd so much` .provision that
'they were able to announcea ten
tent tea for Tuesday evening.., The.
play, , `.Wanted a Wife,", delighted
the audience on 'Monday evening and
a number of requests cane in asking.,
that it be repeated on Tuesday even-
ing, se that those who were unable'
to get into the church en Monday ev-
ening.would have a chance to hear it.
A good crowd attended on Tuesday
evening as well. The financial re-
turns were entirely satisfactory
to
the board of managers and 'their•
thanks are extended to all those who
helped make the 'anniversary such a
-wonderful success.
