Vancouver, B. C., and a son -of a for-
mer pastor of the Helinesville United
formerly Methodist, ;church, lately
missionary in West `China, has been
appointed principal.; -of Teachers`
Training College, Trinidad in connec-
tion with the Trinidad mission of
the United Church of Canada. lie

scholarship in Ontario College of
Education, Toronto, which he entered
on returning from China last year. Mr.
Swann enterd Victoria College in
1918 with a . nlissidnary career in
view, went overseas as a gunner and
won his commission` in France with
the, Canadian Field Artillery. Re -en-,
tering college after ;his return from
overseas, he was graduated a special.
ist in science in 1921, and proceeded
to. China to join the West Clrfna mis-
sion, 'serving there, until last year as
an educational missionary. • Mrs

I. Merrill. Mrs. Snyder gave a hum-
orous reading. A pleasant evening
was spent in social intercourse.
