Lyons Tailoring :company in -this city.

Lieut. -Col. J. A. Cooper, brother of
Mr. A. T. Cooper of town, mat with
a most regrettable accident at Re-
gina on Sunday evening when he had
his foot crushed by a train, necessi-
tating the amputation ,of a part of it..
'Cot. - Cooper and'•a friend had left
the train; which was stopping at'Re-
gina for twenty minutes or so, and on
returning fotfnd- the train on the
move.' They ran to' catch it, 'each
taking a different vestibule. The one
Col. Cooper , jumped for was Closed
and it is, supposed that' when he
sprang to the step he'struck thedoor
which threw him back and in falling
his foot slipped under the moving
wheels. His friend 'ran . through • to.
see if he .had got :on and not finding

• The annual meeting of the Clinton
Public Hospital ^Association Was held
on Tuesday afternoon.
Although the attendance Was no/'
dirge, not nearly so large as is usual
at. an annual meeting' the interest
manifested was gratifying to those
who have kept the "home fires burn-
ing" at the hospital during the past
year, and the' reports ,presented by
the several officers Were exceedingly
encouraging.

occupied the chair. The secretary
Mrs. Zapfe, read the minutes of the
last meeting, which were adopted, and
the treasurer, Mrs. N. W. Treyvarthe
