The Young Peoples' Society of the
United church held their social even-
ing in the frame church on Wednes-
day of last week. They opened by
singing "All Bail the Power of Jes-
us' Name," and Rev. Mir. Penrose led
in prayer. M. Penrose then gave a
solo on the . concertina, which was
followed' by a game of musical
chairs, for which a prize was offered.
Walter Johnson got the prize and
Violet broolymont the booby prize.
A contest was ,then held,. Mrs. S.
Keys getting the prize. The ladies
then served luaQh. A. collection a-
mounted to $1.35. . •

The Y.P.S. held its regular meet-
ing Sunday evening, at 7.30. A nice
attendance. was present. Miss 'Jean
Ivison was in charge of the meeting
Mass Jean Bell took the topic and
Mr. Jack Cooper read the scripture
lesson. Mr. Norman Ale:aander'then.
gave a talk on the Peace Treaty,
Rev. Mi. Connor and Mr•. Bowen ren-
dered a duet which was much enjoy-
ed by all present, •

Miss Parke was born an the year
1866 in Stastltey township, being a
daughter of the '.late • Gelorge and
MaryParke. She
and her. parents
aril ' sister, Catheaalnre, moved into
the .village thirty-two years ago, but
Nim. and MM. Parke passed -away af-
ter sllending only ten or twelve years`
in Bayfield. .
The funeral was held from, her
late home on 'Monday afternoon. to
Bayfield cemetery. Rev. F. H. Paull
of Trinity 'church conductedthe fan. -
anal seance.' The pallbearers were:
