Satirical, gay, but in earnest, says things which many Canadians want to hear. Price 52.50. Marlborough His Life and Times Et. Hon. Winston Churchill is the author. The price, 55.00. It is a skilled attempt to present a . more just and a more generous. judgment than has been given by previous writers. Two years were spent in scrutinizing historic papers and let- ters and in visiting battle scenes be- fore Mr. Churchill felt able to com- mence his endeavour to present Marlborough es the foremost of English soldiers arid second to none among the statesmen of history. My Vision of Canada by VYillianr Arthur Deacon It is a book to teach youth the unique heritage of its birthright and its responsibilities to a new world rapidly coining into being and de- manding a new type of leadership. It raises questions about national life, the issues of economics, imperialism; war, education and culture. Facts and authorities are used to support daring statements, 52.50 is the price, The W. D. WOLF SHOT AT GRAND BEND Gren Brenner Brings Down Animal With Shotgun A gray wolf was shot by Gren Brenner, Grand Bend resident, who was on a shooting trip on Saturday near Beach o' Pines. The wolf is the fourth of its species to be killed in this district during the past year. Mr. Brenner was hunting ducks. While sneaking up on the section of the old river bed of the Aux Sable River he saw the form of an animal slinking across the ice. .His shotgun loaded only with No. 6 shot for ducks. Mr. Brenner had to creep to a vantage point so that the light shot would be effective against the wolf Despite the disadvantage of the light shot the wolf fell to Mr. Brenner's aim. in this district, where the most natural bush of Western Ontario is still largely undisturbed, a few wol- ves seem to have crept in. Two wolves have been killed by motor cars on the trails of the Pinery. Another was shot there by a district resident earlier in the year.
