her son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs.
E. W. M. Paisley, at Kirkland

spending some time in Toronto, is
this week with Mr, and Mrs. Mor-
rish.
Misses Janet McTaggart and Eileen
Rumball left this week to resume
their studies at MacDonald Hall,
Guelph.
Mr. W. Grant, who has been taking
charge sof a dental practice at Tim-
mins for a few weeks, has return-
ed home.
Mr. A. Macdonald, K.G., and Mrs.
Macdonald of Toronto have been
visiting Mr. and Mrs. Frank lying -
land of town. .
Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Jenkins and Mr.
George Jenkins of London visited
at the home of the former, Wood-
lands Farm, over the week -end.
Mrs, G. Hawkins and family, who
have been visiting the lady's fath-
er, Mr. Wm. Stevens, have re-
turned to their home at Thedford.
Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Stong, Mr. and
Mrs. Ernest Stang and, Mr. Clar-
ence Stang of Toronto were week-
end guests at the home of Chief L.
and Mrs. Stong.
Mr. L. Suitter of Toronto, a former
citizen as he operated the elevator
here for some years, was a week.
end guest at the home of his niece,
that of Mr. and Mrs. T. W, Haw-
kins,
Rev. A. A', Holmes, Rev. K. McGour
and Messrs. G. W. Cuninghame,
Carl East and H. W. Ambler, the
latter two visitors in town, went up
north on a hunting trip for a few
days the end of last week.
Mrs. Alice Robson, who has been in
,Milkaulkee, Wis., for the past year
or so, is spending this week as the
guest of Mrs. T. J. Watt, Ratten-
bury street, and intends spending
(the winter with her nieces in
Ottawa. '
Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Sutter and little
Miss Eileen spent the week -end in
St. Catharines, going down to be
present at the silver wedding an-
niversary of Mr. and Mrs. Percy
Holmes, Mrs. Sutter's uncle and
aunt. Mrs. Sutter, then Little
Miss Gertrude Chant, was flower
girl at the wedding.
Judge Watts and Mrs. Watts of
Crookston, Minn., spent a few
days in town over the week -end at
the home of his cousin, Mr. Geo.
Watts, Princess street, and other
friends. Judge Watts is a broth-
er of Mrs. Boles,formerly of Clin-
ton, but it is twenty-one years
since he had visited the old town
and he found many changes.
Mrs. H. B. Chant of St. Catharines
and her son, Mr. Fred Chant, and
Mrs. Chant, Pittsfield, Mass., have
been spending a few days this week
'with Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Sutter.
They had been in ,St. Catharines
attending the silver wedding anni,
versary ef Mr. and Mrs. Percy
Holmes, Mr. Chant having been
best man at the wedding tent-.

a few days last week with Mrs.
Davidson, Sr.
Miss Beatrice Snell spent a few
days last week with London friends.
Mr. and Hrs. Pullyblanlc of Exe-
ter visited Mrs. Jos. Shipley on liron-
day.
Mrs. Lindsay, who has been with her
daughter, at Kippen, has returned to
her home with Mrs. Geo. Falconer
and, we are glad to note, is much
improved in health.
Miss Mabel Hough, assistant ,mat-
ron at the County Home, has been
spending a few days with Preston
friends.
Mrs. 'LeBeau and family spent
Sunday at Drysdale.
Mrs. W. 3. Brown of Montreal and
Mrs. S. Gardner of Benmiller have
been visiting for a few days with
the former's brother, Mr. W. F. Mof-
fatt. Mr. and Mrs. Moffatt and
their guests visited at Listowel on
Sunday.
Mr. Jaeob, manager of the County
Home, has been confined to bed ow-
ing to injuries sustained in a fall,
He is about again, we are glad to
report.
BLYTH
Services of unusual interest were
held in Queen Street United Church
en Sunday, it being the occasion of
their anniversary serviees. Rev. R.
J. McCormick of Zion Tabernacle
United Church, Hamilton, was the
special speaker. He delivered two
excellent addresses to large congre-
gations morning and evening. Rev.
G. Oliver of St. Andrew's also as-
sisted with the evening service. The
choir rendered special music at both
services. In the eevning Mrs. F.
Platzer ef Auburn sang an acceptable
solo.
Mr. McCormick was a former pas-
tor of Queen Street Church and was
heartily welcomed by his many
friends. Be was accompanied by
Mrs. McCormiek and daughter, Miss
Marion.
The board of the church asked
for a thank offering of $500 which
was fully met. The floral decorations
of flowers and autumn foliage was
well arranged and added much to
the occasion.
On Thursday next, Sept.•28th, the
Most Worshipful, the Grand Master,
F. A. Copes of `Stratford, will dedi-
cate the Masonic lodge here and at
WWngham. A meeting a4 Blyth lodge
will be held at half past two. Wing -
ham Lodge meeting will commence
at eight o'clock, a banquet to follow
the dedication ceremonies.
Misses Edith Lorine Lockhart and
Pauline L. Robinson have entered
Stratford Normal for their first year
term. i
