Mrs. Smith passed away recently at the home of her son, Fred, . in her 82nd year, following a Short illness, although she had been in failing health for a number of years, The deceased was born on the 8th concession of Hallett, near Lop- deaboro. Her maiden -name was Elizabeth Sundercock and she was the daughter of the late Mr. and lire. Thomas Sundercock. With her late husband, who predeceased her her marriage, moving from that place when their family was quite sinal to the West, where they made their home for the past 40 years. She leaves to mourn her loss, two daugh- ters; (Emily), Mrs. E. Cameron, and Miss Minnie, of Edmonton, Alta., two sone, Wesley of Thorsby, Alta., and Fred, at Westlock, Alta., at whose. home she passed away. One son, Stanley, passed away in 1927 She also leaves one brother, William Sundercock of Chapter Depot, Mani. tot a. Her remains were interred ir. Hazel Bluff Cemetery, near West^ lock, Alta. Miss Emma Lavis spent a few days in Toronto last week visiting her sisters,'Mrs. P. C. Town, Mrs. Al- len Sylvester and Miss 'Elva Lavis. Rev. Dr. Hogg of Strathroy was in town on Tuesday, coming up to assist in the services at the fun- eral of the late Dr. Gaudier, .who was a former parishioner and a personal friend. Messrs. Charlie Davidson and Dun- can Cartwright, of Brussels and Miss Beth Cartwright of Listowel silent the week -end at the home of the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Cartwright. Mr. and Mrs. A, E. 'Cross of To- ronto were here on Tuesday. Mrs. Cross being a daughter of the late Dr. Gunn, they Came up to pay a' tribute to the memory of Dr. Gan - diet, who was for years the part- ner of Dr. Gunn. a .}IOLMESVILLE The Cheese Factory meeting was held in Mr. Mulholland's hall on Thursday afternoon.
