misfortune to fall down the stairs at
the home, of her song George, on Sun-
day and break her left arm. She is
now with her daughter, Mes. Robt,

her parents for the past two
weeks returned to Toronto with him.
Mrs. D. Prentice has returned to
Tcrofito after having spent a couple
of weeks with her parents.
- Miss Nina Heald has resumed tier
teaching duties near Clinton after
having been home for ten days.
Mr. Donald MacKenzie met with a
serious, accident on Tuesday morning
about ten o'clock. He was driving a
team sof horses, one of which was a
colt, and was on his way to get a load
of gravel when the colt took frigh•
at the horn of Bell's gravel truck.
Tire team bolted and when he endea-
voured to bring them under control
one rein broke. The team went in
and out of the Glitch several times.

hope that she would be spared to see

Murdoch, the delegates who attend-
ed the Presbyterial which was held
in 'Winghan last month. The ladies
thanked the Society to sending them
as they enjoyed the Conference very

Mr. Riley was the son of the
late Joseph and Eliza Riley, who pre-
deceased him many years ago, and
-had lived in this vicinity practically
his entire life and, for the past thir-
ty-five years had been a
resident of the village. The
deceased ` was in his sixty-ninth'
year and he and his wile had cele-
brated they forty-fourth wedding
anniversary last February. Mr.
Riley was 'an honest, upright man
and a good neighbor, always ready to
lend a helping band, and \will be
greatly missed among his associates
as his place in the village will be
hard to. fill.
Mg . Riley was united in marriage
forty-four years ago- to Miss Mar;
garret Freeman, who, is left to mourn
also a family of five sonsand three

During the service on Sunday
