Knight of Toronto was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. F. Gemein- haedt over the week -end. His wife and little son who have been with her parents for the past two weeks returned to Toronto with him. Mrs. D. Prentice has returned to Tcrofito after having spent a couple of weeks with her parents. - Miss Nina Heald has resumed tier teaching duties near Clinton after having been home for ten days. Mr. Donald MacKenzie met with a serious, accident on Tuesday morning about ten o'clock. He was driving a team sof horses, one of which was a colt, and was on his way to get a load of gravel when the colt took frigh• at the horn of Bell's gravel truck. Tire team bolted and when he endea- voured to bring them under control one rein broke. The team went in and out of the Glitch several times. The deceased ` was in his sixty-ninth' year and he and his wile had cele- brated they forty-fourth wedding anniversary last February. Mr. Riley was 'an honest, upright man and a good neighbor, always ready to lend a helping band, and \will be greatly missed among his associates as his place in the village will be hard to. fill.
